Mac Installer Beta Released

43 posts in this topic

For those that are interested in a Mac version of the installer, a beta version has been released. Since it's a port of the Windows version, it should behave in very much the same way, with some notable exceptions when it comes to drivers, etc.

To try out the beta, please join the Google Plus group and follow the instructions:

Can you get a support token before it crashes? Start it up but don't plug in your device. Then press ctrl-s, and paste the result here. Then plug in your device to be sure it logs the crash to the server.

Thanks!

So did it crash during this session? I don't see anything related to the crash... if you could look in your Console and maybe paste up the relevant logs from Console that would be amazing.

I can't get the Mac beta installer to work.

I've got a Galaxy S4 for T-Mobile. I installed the CM Android app from get.com/app. It went fine, I plugged my phone in. The Mac app detects the phone, then loads a blank screen, and then crashes.

I tried to install on Mavericks and it says "Cyanogenmod Installer" Can't be installed because it is from and unidentified developer.

Don't see any instructions to fix this.

It's crashing for me also....Macbook Pro running 10.9, Galaxy Nexus

Support Token: 6fb0ea34-a12b-49aa-a0bb-8772523ba017

Console is saying "Persistent UI failed to open file file:somewhere in my library: Permission denied (13)

The first time I ran it, everything seemed to be going well. I confirmed to unlock the boot loader and it ran for another 5 mins or so and then said there was an error, and asked me to check my usb cable (is fine), change ports (tried, app started crashing).

I tried to install on Mavericks and it says "Cyanogenmod Installer" Can't be installed because it is from and unidentified developer.

Don't see any instructions to fix this.

That's a setting on your computer. Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Select allow downloaded apps from anywhere

Update: Just checked, and it actually did unlock my bootloader, but did not install CM.

I have a LG P936 (Optimus True HD) which is not supported :( by the installer. The P930 (Nitro) is constructed in the same way and yet is a supported device. Any idea how to change the P936 to P930, respectively how to make the CM for the 930 run on my P936?

I doubt that would lead to just anything. Let me put it this way: By double clicking the app, it won't open itself. There is just the icon popping twice, but nothing will happen... Very strange...

Report for Samsung Galaxy SII i9100p (i9100+NFC) on a Mac Book Pro (2013) OSX 10.9.1

Before complaining, just a funny note : The CyanogenMod Installer (Android application side), after some manipulation ask me to continue the installation on my "Windows PC" >_<

Now, more seriously : After enabling ADB and the detection of the device (said to be OK), the download of the recovery begins but the Installer (Mac side) crashes just one half second later.

Important (or maybe not) note :

- The device was already on Cyanogen mod (but not the last build) and then rooted + had recovery.

- The device (the user data partition) is encrypted.

- I did not test this on a "Windows PC" as suggested ^o^

Do you need the log file ?

We're adding some logic to pop a dialog with unhandled exceptions, at which point I expect to get much better information from these crashes. If you're experiencing a crash during detection or download, please just wait for an updated version.

Thanks Guys! I have been struggling to get my T-Mobile SGH-T999 installed, using the windows installer on Windows 8.1, always getting this communication error...having said that, it worked FLAWLESSLY on my MBP 2011, no mess, no fuss, I was up in running in like 20 min...go figure, this is even a BETA Installer too! I appreciate all of your hard work, effort and technical skills!

Your android device wont ask you to go back in front of "your" Windows PC.

Changed the Android app for ya.

Thanks from all Mac users that would be offended (I'm not : multi OS is my way).

I'm waiting for the mac installer's next version !
