Unsupported devices posts outside the Device requests forum will be deleted without comment. Posts asking about/for future versions of CM will be locked and/or deleted.   We don't have a crystal ball; we don't know if someone will make CM $version for your deivce or if CM $version+1 will be made for your supported device.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play

4 posts in this topic

With Sony Xperia Play coming in a few months, do you think sony locked it down to render it unrootable? or do you devs think the phone is rootable?

I guess we have to wait till someone gets the phone, so we can see if we can install Cyanogenmod.

Anyone getting the phone?

Have seen a few news posts about the upcoming released of CyanogenMod for Xperia Play, but can't find any information on the website/forums.

Would be good to hear more about this. Not only the release-date, but I'm wondering if "Xperia Only" apps will still install on the device once CyanogenMod has been installed.

Not to completely necro a thread, but the FreeXperia team doesn't seem to be including the SonyEricsson frameworks that are required for the native emulator or any of the other native framework enablements (the Play shell that opens when you slide out the controls, the Bravia controls, etc). They are certainly making progress, but the published sources from SE do not compile cleanly and seem to be missing certain driver bits to enable full acceleration and other issues are being run into. They are most certainly making progress, and overcoming obstacles every week. Mad props to Jerpelea, Blagus and others over on XDA who are attempting to port this to the Xperia Play. They are even trying to make a version that would work with the R800x (the CDMA variant of the Xperia Play) now that we have obtained unlocked bootloaders for that.
