Everything you mentioned is "just ducky" on my phone, the only issue I have is with the voice on BT. No one can hear me, and I added brf6350.bin to my /etc/firmware to try that out... still no luv.

Get Kernel 2.6.32.33-aospCMod (which was the 06/01 release) - check twitter @aospbot for the link/info - it's 2.3.4

I have the FIXEDMMS version. And zero issues 'cept the BT - which blows.

Thanks, this rom is awesome. everything works now =P

There are a few more bugs in the aospCMod port, wired headsets have issues, camera autofocus is borked and zoom doesn't crop the picture even though it zooms while in use (check the xda thread for a camera focus fix), you cannot assign custom ringtones, all volume levels are low, and there is a problem for some people with wifi (hard to reproduce). The dev, #aospbot, hasn't released anything new for over a month, but has said he will be back in the kitchen soon.

Blarfie has been working on a CM7 port for all versions of the Optimus line, and ath3nos has forked a port of his work for the Optimus S that is being used on the Optimus V with a flashable zip that gets MMS working and remaps the keys. BT is still borked though, don't know of any Gingerbread or CM7 port for the OV with working BT. There are a couple of people attempting to compile directly for the V right now, myself included, but I'm a newb at building from source, keep getting a no rule to make rild.

hey i'm new to the android modding scene. i finally rooted my optimus s after months of searching and trying to get around sprint's stupid update that blocked the rooting capabilities. i've noticed that a few people have managed to flash the cm7 mod on the S. i was wondering what device is compatible with the S. i have tried to install the scott pilgrim mod for the S, but it keeps freezing during the actual android loading screen. if anyone can help with either mod, i'd be very happy.

ugh ironically i woke up this morning and my phone was just on the lg logo screen. now its stuck in this constant loop of rebooting. when i unplug the phone from the charger it doesn't power on. the phone has been working fine and i have had no problems from it once i put on the rom. but somehow i dont think this is rom related. the phone is still practically new ive only had it about 3 months. i think this is hte phone itself. i did some googling and come to find out some people have had this problem on non-rooted stock phones. any suggestions or am i screwed? my god the thought of calling virgin mobile's tech support makes me feel like i'd rather slit my wrists. i hate calling them for anything.

when i boot into recovery mode the phone stays on but i have to leave the charger attached. if i disconnect it it powers off. thats why i'm thinking it has nothing to do with the rom. is there a way to see the battery charge in recovery mode or some kind of diagnostic mode?

--update.

mk strange, i booted into recovery mode, let it stay there for a few minutes, and then rebooted the phone. now its back up but the battery life is showing only at about 3%.

maybe the phone was just deader than dead and couldnt boot at all even while plugged in. it really sucks not having some kind of LED on this phone to let you know if its even charging or not

Check out the Notification Light Mod in the Optimus V forums at XDA, the dev mmarz can probably help you with a script in tasker that will let you set the button leds to some sort of charging sequence.

On another note, Blarfie has given permission to post ROMs built from his inferiorhumanorgans repository, which he is building to support all models of the Optimus line built on the thunderc platform. I finally got it to compile for the V yesterday, and ath3nos has it compiled for the S, so expect more of these phone versions to have CM7 ports soon. With Blarfie submitting pull request to the CyanognMod team, we could even have an official build coming (fingers crossed).

Here's the latest build from Blarfie's repo for the Optimus V:

Inferior Human Organs Binaries

Source can be found at http://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans

His repo now has branches for both the Optimus S and V, and he's working on a couple of the other Optimus variants.

Glad you like it! :)

You can find the latest builds in the thread at xda in the Optimus V subforums. Blarf is cooking up a storm with his new kernel for the Optimus V, pushing out new versions faster than I can compile them right now, and ath3nos and drewwalton have a ROM and rebuilt Xionia kernel going for the Optimus S. I'm posting nightlies throughout the week, and the team takes the weekend off to let everyone catch up with the versions and really test things out.

Much thanks to the entire CM team for all their hard work which gives us the opportunity to create these ports!

That's a gingerbread thing, so yes it is because of the 2.3.x ROM.

yea thats a gingerbread thing, which i've found the hard way, can be bad if u allow your battery to completely discharge; the phone is too weak to stay on so it gets stuck in a reboot loop for 30+ minutes or until the phone gets enough charge to stay on. i dont know if the phone constantly rebooting like that for so long hurts the phone or not but its freaky and makes me paranoid that something might happen to my data. i'm probably over-reacting and it's probably harmless but to sit there and watch your phone constantly rebooting to the LG screen, then trying to load the home screen only to go back to the LG screen again 50+ times, it feels like trying to resuscitate a baby. you can only sit an wait and hope it recovers lol.

Looks like my battery died. I left it sitting on the charger overnight and still doing the reboot loop. Any suggestions?

Edit: Looks like somehow my recovery is back to stock. I tried charging while in recovery mode and that doesn't seem to be working either. The phone just keeps flashing a blank screen every 30 seconds or so.

Edit: Fixed using fastrootboot.

jerryscript,

i havnt flased it yet (actually downloading files right now) but i have been checking it out and kinda following the bug fixes and peoples replys about it. i just wanted to say thanks for all the work u and blarf and everyone else who worked on it put into it. one of the main reasons i havnt flashed a rom to my V yet is cuz i havnt found one that is pretty much completly compatible with optimus v or makes me comfortable enough to try it ( still kinda on noob status as far as experience goes)then a friend (wyle) told me about it and ive been researching it ever since.but it looks really good and i cant wait to try it. thanks man

There are now 6 different builds being maintained off the InferiorHumanOrgans fork of CM7.1.0-RC0. What would it take to turn this into an official CM7 port?

It's all political/who you know! If you check CMStats here: http://stats.cyanogenmod.com/

you will see that they support phones that are at the bottom of the list, yet there are phone at the top of list that are not supported. The Ascend(I use to build for) is number 17 on the list with number of users, yet not supported. The thunderg is # 23 and thunderc is # 48 on the list, so I really don't think the Optimus will get officially supported...unless Blarf knows poeple ; )

Its not political, people just not going thru the proper channels to get devices officially supported. If a maintainer has a fully or mostly fully version of CynaogenMod for their device, they have to submit their code to Gerrit. The CyanogenMod team usually does not "go out of their way" to seek out maintainers of unsupported devices.

InferiorHumanOrgans is going through the proper channels. It has already been named the maintainer of the thunderc, transfered by mik9. All work has been submitted via commits to gerrit, and there are at least 7 different builds being maintained for two different phones, Optimus S and Optimus V, with work on the Optimus M getting underway.

I was simply asking what the next step is in getting to officially supported status.
