Grab BetterBatteryStats and let it run through a discharge cycle. Then in the app check out your partial wakelocks section to find what apps are keeping your phone from entering its low-powered deep sleep.

I would load up the latest RC build for your device and try and replicate it. If you can, I would suggest reporting the bug on CM's project manager, https://jira.cyanogenmod.org (make sure you include a logcat, instructions are on the wiki).

Well, the stock Samsung camera app can't happen since it is incompatible with CM.

But the instructions to install CM on any supported device is located in the wiki. It also provides download links for the various builds available.

Have you verified your wifi is not set to turn off when the screen is off?

Settings -> Wifi -> Menu -> Advanced -> Keep Wifi On During Sleep -> Always
