My First Few Days With Cm10, The Small Unimportant Stuff I Didn't Like.

24 November 2012 - 11:19 AM

So i just got my hands on a HTC one S aka ville, and having some experience from my HTC desire running CM7 i was really looking forward to installing CM10 on this thing.
The installation went smooth and everything worked.

But it didn't take long before i realized i've lost my software menu button "3 dots" As a new user i had no idea this was disabled as default, i had to go to the forums for help. And then it was easily fixed. Should probably be enabled as default, then when the user is comfortable with the system he can disable it.

As with CM7 there seems to be issues with using volume rocker to wake the device, only 2 out of 10 times it works.

Yahoo weather is quite unreliable compared to yr.no or accuweather. It has difficulties knowing where i am, and it doesn't spell all the locations right, mixing my language with English, it just looks silly.

Need an extra volume adjuster. There's music/video, ringtones and alarm. we need an extra one for system sounds. I like having the click sound when my phone locks/unlocks, but it so low you hardly hear it if there is just the slightest noise around you. Whereas the keyboard sounds are way too loud, where it's just supposed to provide feedback to the user, and not the neighbours.

That's about it, used for about 3 days and i've only encountered these small annoyances. which should be easily fixed in upcoming updates.
performance is great, battery seems to hold pretty good. No connectivity issues, crashes or other funky stuff.
Overall i think CM10 is awesome.
