Turns out there seems to be a glitch when a profile with a ringtone volume override is enabled. Turned off the profile and all application-specific sound settings returned to normal.

I'm having an interesting new issue. I just hopped back onto CM9 a few days back (missed it greatly) and started having some weird issues with my text message ringtone changing back to the default ringtone. Lo and behold, my gmail notification, silent, also changed back to this default tone. For the past two days, I have not been able to change any tones away from default or silent. GMail notably shows the present ringtone outside the selection window, so it's easy to see that selecting anything but "silent" or default just doesn't work. It always reverts back to one or the other, no matter what I select. I've cleared data for Galaxy Nexus Settings, Gmail, Settings, and Settings Storage and cleared cache from recovery, all to no avail.

Help!
