amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
amend scripting was deprecated by google in android1.5.
it was necessary to remove it when upgrading to clockworkmod 3.0 gingerbread based recovery.
please switch to edify scripting (updater-scipt and update binary) scripting to create working update zip packages. installation aborted.
I tried gvoice it worked for a bit and no longer works, regardless it's not for me. i use handcent so i can block the texts so that shouldn't be an issue. i like this rom but i need my voicemail, as of now callers can't leave a message at all they get is "call can not be completed"
i'm lost can anybody help me find my way??
thanks

I agree. I had used Redlist for the longest time but it never seemed to work. Yesterday I installed Super private and it works like a charm. I don't mind if it is bulky - it does what it is supposed to do!

installed the old sprint visual voice mail
also installed redlist and created a contact for 9016 in redlist .. its active... unchecked both boxes and still getting a notification for 9016 text ... and now one for visual vm ... so two alerts .... grrrr
sprint htc evo
running 6.1.2
any ideas .. do i have any options besides downloading a third party sms application?
Either remove the default SMS app or open the default app goto settings and uncheck "notifications". If this is checked then the system will display these before RedList can block them. This works for some and not others it seems.

So I downloaded the Sprint VVM zip file and installed using the ClockworkMod Rom Manager, and blacklisted the 9016 number with Handcent. Now though, the vvm program doesn't work. In the pull-down notification area, I have a message that says "Voicemail pending, Tap here to call voicemail." When I click on it, it dials my phone number to retrieve my voicemail, but the notification never goes away, even when all voicemails have been deleted. When I run the vvm program, the screen just says "You have new voicemail that cannot be downloaded." and a button that says "Call for new voicemail" which calls my phone number to hear the voicemail.
I'm also getting a pop-up message that disappears after a brief time, which says something to the effect of, "Error V30: Voicemail could not be downloaded because a data connection could not be made." or something like that (it only appears briefly, seemingly at random). My cell phone and data connections, wifi and gps are all working just fine, so I have no idea what that message is about.
I can't figure out what is going on, and would welcome any suggestions anyone may have.
BTW, I'm using an HTC Hero with CyanogenMod 7 nightly.
Thanks!

How-To Reinstall Your Sprint Visual VM under CM7!!!
Finally!!! A solution that worked!!!
I DO NOT CLAIM CREDIT. I'M PROVIDING THIS FOR THE GOOD OF THE FORUM
1. Download the Sprint VVM 5.1.0.48 Titanium Backup zip: Download attached below
2. Extract the Sprint VVM 5.1.0.48 Titanium Backup zip to the root of the SD card.
3. Download & install Titanium Backup from the Market.
4. Launch Titanium Backup and make sure Sprint VVM is removed (if not, use Titanium Backup to remove it).
5. Install the Sprint VVM (/sdcard/sprint_vvm_5.1.0.48.apk).
6. Launch Titanium Backup, select Sprint VVM, select Restore and select Data Only. NOTE: There is App+Data but it doesn't work.
7. Launch the Sprint VVM and "Compose" a message to yourself. It will test send and receive functions of Sprint VVM.
NOTE: If the above steps do not work, try manually placing the contents of the folder (titaniumbackup) into the preexisting titanium backup folder, i.e. install the APK as instructed, but also extracting the three files within the contained folder into your titanium backup folder.
I can verify and confirm that Sprint VVM (SVVM) works under CM7 RC2 with the stock kernel, using the above method.
NB: On receipt of new voicemail, a text from "9016" will be sent to your phone. I'm using the basic CM7 MMS app and haven't figured out how to stop these notification texts, but that's a minor annoyance to have SVVM back!

Note: I made a couple of errors the first time. Make sure you extract to sdcard/... Also, for some reason, the "backup" did not first appear in TitanumBackup, it would say No Backup Yet. I played around with it, but it would not work. So I gave up for a while and came back about an hour later and the backup was there. Not sure why, but VVM works now.

The biggest advantage to me is the fact that my voicemail isn't transcribed and stored indefinitely google's servers or used for targeted advertising. I suppose this assumes that Sprint isn't doing the same. I'm not sure that they don't.

I have been running like this for a while but its getting annoying. Exactly how do you block it in Handcent? I have it blacklisted but when a message does come in it still shows having a new message on the icon. You know how the icon shows a green bubble with a number inside for new messages? It still shows up there and I have to go in and "mark all read" to clear that out for every voicemail. Is there some option in the blacklist I have missed to just get rid of anything to do with the stupid 9016 nonsesne?
