Ok, so this is what I did. Similar to the original poster.
First off, I was on 10.2 and did a bunch of dirty flashes. Originally I tried flashing cm 11 with official CWM 220.127.116.11. No dice... status error 7. So did some reading. found it's just too old of a recovery. Just did a quick google search of "p5110 cmw unofficial" which brought me to this web page...
CWM unofficial: http://www.androidfi...212708291681713
Downloaded gapps for 4.4 from http://wiki.cyanogen...g/w/Google_Apps
Then proceeded with the following steps:
1. Flashed unofficial CWM
2. Wiped cache/data/dalvik
3. Flashed CM-11-nightly...
4. Flashed gapps
5. Flashed openpdroid - not required but I like it
6. Rebooted and was good to go
NOTE: I heard that some unofficial cwm were having issues flashing from internal storage. I put all my flashable zips on my external SD.
Hopefully this helps someone out...
EDIT: Also used Titanium Backup to restore a bunch of user apps. Titanium stated the the su binary may cause an issue but it could work flawlessly (same warning with 10.2 but I didn't have any problems on that rom either). I haven't seen any issues with TBU. Just be sure not to flash any backed up system stuff and I think you will be ok.
EDIT2: The only issue I had so far was with Netflix that was restored via TBU. When quality would auto-adjust the picture would freeze. Uninstalled Netflix and reinstalled from the Play Store. Now Netflix works fine.
