Small update on recent developments at xda.

Currently a group of enthusiasts are collaborating on porting KitKat and 3.1 kernel to our p990 device. Hopefully they will succeed. I hope if the kernel gets stable, several ROMs could emerge (SlimKat, CM11, OmniRom, ...)

Development is still at a very early stage, so no reason to flash and report bugs ...yet :-P Discussing progress can be done here http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=2559164

All credit goes to DJNoxD & hjunii, and other contributors.

Update

Kowalski Kernel 127 (currently alpha v26) based on 3.1 is becoming more and more stable!

There are 2 CM11 experimentals which will hopefully follow and get stable too: SlimKat and tonyp's CM11, and
there has been talk about porting OmniROM to our device at some point...

KitKat would be great for our low-RAM device, but it will take time (so, please go easy on the devs so they do not have to waist time)...

I flashed CM11(4.4.2) a day back and its working fine.
Seems like my P990 has got new life.

Currently I'm on
cm-11-20140613-UNOFFICIAL-p990-bcm4329-oldbl.zip / kowalski-kernel-M1-oldbl.zip
gapps included in the ROM.
