Due to licensing issues google apps have to be provided separately from CM.

This should be in the FAQ BTW

Hi!

Firefoxos is right when he says that due to licensing issues, CyanogenMod cannot include the Google applications directly in CM's ROM image. There has been some problems in the past so CyanogenMod cannot include these apps by default. They have to be installed separately. Firefoxos gives you the link where you can download the Google Apps for CM9.

Once you have the ZIP package containing the apps, you have to flash it into your phone using ClockWorkMod Recovery.
  • Plug your phone to your computer using an USB cable and turn on USB storage;
  • Copy the downloaded package gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip into your phone's SD card (or your phone's internal storage, if you don't have an SD card);
  • Reboot your phone in recovery mode. From CM9, keep pressing your power button until a power-off menu appear. Select "Reboot", then "Recovery" and "OK";
  • Your phone will now reboot in ClockWorkMod Recovery. In this recovery menu, select "Install ZIP from SD card";
  • Then, choose either "Choose ZIP from SD card" if you put the ZIP package in your phone's SD card, or "Choose ZIP from internal sdcard" if you put the ZIP package in your phone's internal storage;
  • Select the file gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip. You will be asked to confirm the action;
  • The apps are now installing;
  • When it's done and you are back to the recovery's main menu, the apps are installed. Select "Reboot system now" to reboot your phone normally.

Hi,

Firefoxos links are dead and I can't find Google apps page. Where is this page ?

If http://wiki.cyanogen...p?title=Support is the FAQ page, it doesn't talk about Play store.

The play store is part of the gapps package that you have to install.
