Hi there!

I'll want to buy a smartphone, and I'll want to put cm9 on it. It's not easy to choose a nice one that's supported, and I've especially got some trouble figuring out the list at get.cm. Some are labelled clearly, but e.g. for the samsung galaxy ace ("cooper") I can find 4 variants on gsmarena.com. Are all of those supported? How do you find out?

Some on get.cm aren't labelled at all, e.g. "haida". How do I find out what that is?

The task is especially daunting because resellers aren't really labelling things clearly often... but I guess I'll have to deal with that. Any hints welcome anyways

(e) And just now I realize that not even all those phones on get.com do get cm9. How can I see that? E.g. the LG optimus 2x has an entry there, but won't get cm9 (from what I gather in the respective forum here).

Nexus devices are always supported as they are the easiest to develop for. I think other devices are supported or not supported depending on their popularity. I'm not sure about a definitive list. I didn't even know what CM was when I got my phone, I just got lucky.
