I just installed CM9 and it worked like a charm.
But I don't want to sync my contacts to google. With my old android I could choose the account "Phone" which doesn't sync at all.
Same with the calender. Is there a way to get that back/ create a phone account?

yeah, i also find this rather annyoing. me, i usually do sync my contacts with hotmail, but i can perfectly understand why many people don't want to do that. it should be possible to save your contacts on your phone without syncing them to any cloud services.
i came across this issue while looking for a workaround for the exchange account contact syncing bug: since syncing my hotmail contacts doesn't currently work, i thought i could simply import them from a .vcf file to my phone. not a chance. as soon as you pick a vcf, you have to choose either a google or an exchange account to sync it with.
i've filed a bug report about this, you can find it here.
if you also find this annoying, you can add a star to this report to make it more urgent. (at least that's how i think it works).

it seems that you were right: they've changed the issue type from 'defect' to 'enhancement' in the issue tracker:
hope they'll eventually add this feature, anyway...

Stock Android has never offered local storage as a choice for saving contacts, Samsung added that feature.
