Hi all,

I'm using CM9 RC2 on my SGS2 i9100.

I've had this problem since using Free's network (in France). It also occured with nightlies.
My phone will lose internet connectivity for no apparent reason and it will not come back until I reboot the phone (toggling airplane mode doesn't help). It seems to happen when moving around and thus switching GSM stations but it's random. Sometimes it will happen, sometimes not.
I had no problem using T-Mobile in Poland.

My girlfriend had the same issue with Play in Poland and CM9 nightlies.

I'm thinking it may have to do with operators that do national roaming as both Free and Play use other national carriers' networks to remedy their poor coverage.

Can anybody advise? It is very irritating...
Thanks!

Im having the same issue w/ CM9 RC1.

Ill test RC2, but for now i installed Data ON-OFF app, switching off and on solves the connection for a while.

I tried all the modems I could put my hands on, to no avail.
Here is the list:
KI3
KI4
LPB
LPF
LPG
LPK
LPW
LPX
LQ6

This is driving me nuts... Rendering the whole smartphone and whatsapp thing useless.
It seems to happen only with operators who are nationally roaming on other carriers.
I have the problem with Free in France who roams on Orange AND Free because they don;t have enough antennas. In Poland, we had the problem with Play who roams on 3 networks nationally but not with T-Mobile who doesn't roam.

FYI I also tried to wipe everything and use a fresh CM9, I encountered the same issue.

Switching Data Off and On seems to restore connectivity, until next time. It's a hackjob though and cannot be a permanent solution

Got the same problem in Australia on Vodafone. Si far I've only tried LPX but I've heard that LP4 may be the modem to try for my particular carrier.

i was also instructed to try confirming the APN settings. Perhaps search on your carrier webpage for settings and compare that to what your phone has auto configured?

I finally got rid of the CM9 kernel and replaced it with Siyah v3.5.2 and now everything is working smoothly.
Only thing not working is that the menu and back keys don't go off after a few seconds like it used too but go off when the screen goes off. Not a big deal if I get an otherwise working phone.
Siyah kernel seems to be far superior to CM9 default kernel as far as battery life and stability are concerned. If you are encountering weird bugs on stock kernel, update to the latest nightly and install Siyah kernel. Much much much better. Hope this helps someone else!
