Hi all,
I want to disable Edge/2g/3g connections. My phone is already rooted.
I disabled wireless in wireless connections and also roaming...however, in disabling 3g it makes me enable 2g(auto enables edge)....either or.....but I basically want to use my g1 to just text/phone call...that is all...no need for all this web base features....
scenario: disabling 3g will auto change to edge....enabling it will go to 3g...which Both i do not want
I know some ppl will tell me to get Vpndroid but i dont want to pay for the software. Also googleplay is not compatible with the G1.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi all,
After much researching and collectively stringing things/trial and error....here's the solution to enjoy the G1 with data charge services disabled
SOLVED
Dial *#*#4636#*#* call~
Phone information>>Select WCMDA only (gsm default)>>Press Menu button>>>More>>Disable data connects >>>Disable Data on boot
Enjoy data less smart phone G1 service now for those who wish use it without a data plan
