Hi,

I am having an issue with call quality on my Rogers skyrocket.  I've tried searching here and on xda for a solution but have found nothing.  I recently rooted / installed CM9 nightly July 6.  Anybody have ideas on what I can do to improve the call quality?

Thanks in advance.

I believe this is one of the bugs in CM9 for our phone. My friend has also complained about the call quality when I call him and says that it's a bit quiet, even when on full volume.

I was able to hear everyone fine, but they said I sounded like I was underwater.  I ended up flashing 0707 nightly and it seems to have resolved the problem :)  As far as I understand our phone still doesn't have an RC right?  We only use the nightlies?

That is right. Basically just keep checking the RC section (http://get.cm/?device=skyrocket) but I think it'll be a while.

Also when you updated, what steps did you do. Did you format dalvik or cache, or do just need to flash the nightly zip file?

The first time I did, but when I went from one nightly to the other I did not need to format dalvik or the cache.

I believe from the July 9 nightlies, they have fixed the low quality/volume call problem, so just update to the newest nightly, and this problem will be fixed.

And thanks Nox55, I just had to flash the zip, no formatting anything.

I dunno...  I'm on the 7/10 nightly and while I can hear my callers clearly they still say my voice quality is bad...  :(

My friends have told me that it's better so I don't know, try increasing the in call volume but it 'should' be better.

Try re flashing the latest nightly, it worked for me.  People said i sounded like i was underwater.  Sounds like the same thing you are experiencing.

OK!

Wiped cache and dalvik and installed 20120713 Nightly for skyrocket.

What I've learned is that at the beginning of the call things are, for the most part, OK.  It sounds a little garbled / mechanical / underwater.  However, as the call progresses, the effect worsens.  This happens over the period of about two minutes.  On an extended call (5+ minutes) the effect becomes so bad that the call eventually drops.

Any chance a developer is following this thread?  Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bob

I'm also experiencing problems with the call quality. I can hear the people just fine. But the people I talk to, tell me that they hear an echo of their own voice, but they hear me just fine.
I just installed the 7-12 nightly

I have also noticed the call echo problem, the person i'm calling complains about it.

It happened the as soon as I updated to Rogers ICS 4.0.4. I actually put CM9 on hoping it would go away.

The latest nightly should resolve this problem. It did for me anyway.

I am on AT&T and callers are saying that the call sounds muffled.  Anyone else get this problem?  I am on the latest nightly... 7-28-2012.....

I have formatted, flashed, wiped both caches... tried everything but still they claim I have bad audio... only it's not all the time... it's freaking weird... I tried flashing different radios, while under different nightlies also... no go... :(

I still have this issue in the stable release. It seems it is the case, if I pull My otterbox comutter case off mid call the echo goes away. This case was not a problem when I had gingerbread on my phone.

Have you tried playing around with the call quality settings. Go to dialer and then go to settings, and try enabling/disabling noise suppression and see if there is a difference. By default, it is enabled. FYI, I have no call quality problems after a nightly update a while back, but I also use no case.
