Hi,
this is my first Android-phone, and also my first attempt on flashing a rom, so it's very possible I'm overlooking something obvious, but here goes...
I have tried flashing CM9RC1 with the "Nexus Toolkit" (v7), and also through the normal ADB-way, using the steps on CM-wiki . Everything works fine up until the first boot to CM, where the CM-boot-animation never goes away.
After some more searching, I was able to get a logcat, and it is definitely looping during the boot.
Is there anyway I can upload the logcat to here and somebody can have a quick look? Or anybody with the same issue?
I've got it reflashed with the original Google-rom, so I'm saved for the moment
I am using a Galaxy Nexus GSM (I9250), ICS 4.0.4 (IMM76I), and trying to flash to CM9RC1 (maguro-version), with or without GApps.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
bit555.

(I've never used nexus toolkit)
First time I used Galaxy_Nexus_(GSM):_Full_Update_Guide from wiki, as you probably have done....
After getting Clockworkmod working and having the zip file onto the sdcard, do not forget steps 5 and 6:
- Select the option to Wipe data/factory reset.
- Then select the option to Wipe cache partition.
skipping wipe actions coming from a different rom could cause bootlops.
On the other hand, remember that wipping data will cause lossing all your stuff (not sdcard).
If you've done all wipes, I do not know what could be the problem...so I feel sorry
Kind regards

Hi,
>> skipping wipe actions coming from a different rom could cause bootlops.
Indeed, indeed.
I did do steps 5 and 6, but after that, both zips (CM and Gapps) had vanished as well. So, I restored the original ROM, did the whole procedure again, including the whipes, booted again in original ROM, copied the ZIP-files, and then installed them through clockworkmod. Of course, during the copy-proces in the original rom, 1 SMS-message came in, and 1 call. Apprently that was enough to create the bootloop
After your message, I did everything again (without the copy in the original rom), and it works very fine now. Thanks!

Well, it didn't delete the files on sdcard this time, but it did the first time. Or, well, ... i probably copied them to the wrong dir
Thanks again for the help!

Resolved, I know. But, I can't help jumping in.
One thing I remember from unlocking my GNex when I first installed a new ROM is the fact that, in the unlocking process of the phone (where you actually unlock the bootloader, which allows you to flash ROM's), all data on the phone is wiped, including whats on the sdcard. So perhaps that was it?
However, when switching between ROM's, you won't experience that issue. Not that I don't recommend making a Nandroid backup, because I do. However, you shouldn't worry about losing data on your sdcard when switching from ROM to ROM.
