You need to configure your APN, search at google for APN (Access Point Network) for your carrier/country, you will need this settings: Name, apn, Username, Password...... then, go to Mobile Network Settings > Access Point Names// Press option key and click on NEW APN and fill this 4 settings

But not the 3g works but when I put in wifi that I use for some time and I deactivates the wifi, my xperia play without wanting more than 3g. Well I receives the sms and call, but mms and internet stopped working. C I think a little bug because when I reboot my 3g xperia play back then.

experiencing the same issue. 3g does not work on the release candidate. confirmed with my carrier that it wasn't an issue with my sim or account. apn settings are the same. transferred my sim to a different phone and the 3g worked.
