Hey all.  New here.  I used to have a mytouch 3g slide which I bought on ebay and it was loaded with cm 7.2.  It was sweet.  That phone took a crap. Now I have a T mobile LG mytouch slide.  Nice phone, has android 2.3.4 but I know it can work better.  I would like to change it over to the stable cm7 but I don't have the first clue as to where I start.  I am sure that on a forum like this there has to be a tutorial on how to do this... I don't know where to look.  Can one of the Gurus on here please point me in the right direction?  I have downloaded the CM 7 that works for the only lg mytouch listed on here.  The model number is different than my phone.  The one they list here is the e739. Will this download work on my LG C-800 mytouch slide?  if so, again, where do I find out how to do this?  I need idiot instructions... I am pretty savvy with most things mechanical and some things electronic but in no way any kind of computer or phone geek (wish I was and working on it but with two kids it's really hard to find time to geek out anymore..lol)  Please help me oh Cy Gurus!!!

I know that most of you will see this as a real challenge... teaching a newbe how to do what it takes to mod his phone.  I know, that's like me trying to teach a newbe how to change out a half-shaft or do a brake job... I am up for the challenge!  Are any of you?!

Then I'd say try the LG subforums here and ask which root method you'd use for your particular model, since I have no idea if "close enough" is "good enough" (I doubt it but its better to ask the experts).

Thanks.  I downloaded that exact file onto my computer and my phone but I don't know where it went on my phone.  I assume I need to root my phone befor I gain access to a bunch of things.  I will post in the LG subforum to see what I can get.  Thanks for the response.

Thanks Subwoofer... I just went there.  They don't have anything on the LG mytouch q (LG C-800)  Nothing!  I wish I had just done more  to the phone that I used to have that already had C7 on it.  I can't even get Rom Manager to list my phone.  This stuff always drives  me nuts.  Someone has the info on how to mod this phone.  Anyone else out there have this POS?  C-800?  You'd think there would be more out ther on it.
