When will Cyanogenmod move to the Jelly Beans codebase?

And will this be a seperate release eg 9.1, like 9.0 is with Android 4.0 ?

CyanogenMod team will work on it once it is open source, but don't ask for ETA, please.

Also just to answer your version number questions. CyanogenMod is at version 9 now because each dessert version of android they update the version a whole number. So Froyo to Gingerbread was 2.2 to 2.3, but for Cyanogen it was version 6 to version 7. So following that logic Jellybean gets a whole new version number and becomes CM10. The .1 and .2 updates to CM numbers are often additions of features and general improvements over time. e.g. CM7.2 added some features from ICS to CM7, though it also includes bugfixes and other improvements in function of course.

I know im late to the party, flames and jabs have already been launched...

BUT, the question you should have asked is if the CM team (and I dont doubt that they jumped in to look as soon as it hit the SDK) is looking into JB, or if their focus is going to remain on CM9 until an RC... its still a bad question, but not nearly as... "flame bait" as yours...

From personal "stalker" experiance (I look and have looked at the changelogs for my own devices daily), I can say that compared to when it was just CM7 and prior to CM9, development has splintered greatly. Now im not saying people slowed down or got lazy or anything, I mearly mean that watching the logs for my devices I have noticed a... "dealers" position going on, meaning that a few people go through daily and do a circle for possible commits and either merge or reject them for devices instead of seeing 5+ merges occuring (which was the norm I as in ME saw occur quite often with CM7).

As I see it right now, CM7.2+ development has nearly ground to a hault (I still use CM7.2 on 3 of my devices over CM9), and CM9 activity has a good 1-4 merges on each device or device family a day, and for the main people I see doing the final sign off's and merges, thats pretty damn good!
Now just imagine if a bunch of the devs jumped to JB development before CM9 was even finalized...

I talk alot I realize that, so the TL;DR of the story is: Bad question in more then one way...

EDIT: oh, and good job CM team and maintainer community, I for one am very greatful for your dedicated work on an alternative to Carrier ROM's!

Given that Jelly Bean is a point release over Ice Cream Samwich is makes sense to have a stable release of ICS before thinking about JB, but seeing that people are doing this in their own time it is up to them how they do it.
If you do not like how they do it learn and build your own.

I wouldn't expect JB to come to CM until there is a stable release for ICS first. Plus the source isn't out yet, so CM isn't even going to think about doing CM 10 for JB yet.

Cm9 hasn't been stabilized for a single device yet! It's still in Beta (nightly) version for many and RC (release candidate) for most. So until EVERY device has been stabilized, I doubt the AWESOME devs at cm would start Jelly bean. Plus, the Kit isn't out yet...(I think) Remember CM doesn't port from other devices, so don't expect them to do that from the Nexus update, either.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply, i guess i was a bit to eager to get a hold of project butter, considering CM9 just released a RC for 4.0.4 which has been out for a long time, following the same timeline trajectory we might see a CM10 RC after christmas.

Yes, probably an accurate estimate...either that, or possibly just as likely is that CM10 will be released within days of the next big Android release (Key Lime Pie), seeing as how that has been the pattern of recent releases of CM.  But either way I wouldn't hold my breath for actually seeing a Jellybean-based CM version by the end of this year; probably also at least a couple of months away from seeing a final stable release of CM9.

Its also important to remember they essentially started from scratch for CM9.  It was a very different version of the OS and they've done a great job on all this new development.  Jelly Bean shares that code base essentially, being a .1 instead of a full new version.  This will aid them a lot I'm guessing as much of their work won't need to be redone.  I still say don't expect and ETA, but I think people saying to expect a stable CM9 release are correct.  If CM10 is going to be build on CM9, and I think it is for the most part, then it makes sense to wait until you have a stable foundation.

+1 it won't take nearly as long...the 4.0 framework was a huge difference and that caused the problem

It's probably a no-brainer, but can we expect Cyanogenmod on the Nexus 7 ?
