So I see a slew of new devices getting CM9 today.  Not us, of course.  @CUViper are you still our maintainer?  Any news you'd like to share, even if its "go away"?

Until he chimes in: He's still the maintainer, just busy with work so he can't port it himself just yet. He's offered to review (and approve if deemed worthy) any code submitted his way, but no one has yet.

If too impatient, there are at least two unofficial builds over at xda.

I have been watching the builds on XDA and they have made some great progress on the CM9 builds. There are a couple of issues yet but for a unit that isnt supposed to get ICS, the Inc is working quite well.

Sedro, eh?  I used to work at Valley Internet back in the 90's and had quite a few customers up river - small world...

I am running CM9 Pre-Alpha 9 on my Dinc, and it is solid enough for a daily driver.  I found it in ROM Manager under dark something.  Check it out and report back here.  I'm curious to hear about your experiences.

I know this isn't CM9 but it uses CM9 as its base:

http://rootzwiki.com...p?/topic/28493-[ROM][4.0.4][CM9-Hybrid]-PARANOIDANDROID-RLS-2-[Update-June-28]

I've got it loaded up on my dinc right now and its solid enough for a daily driver.

Thanks Stretch I might have to flash this tomorrow.  I'm just concerned that two of the functions I use a lot of the time for our hiking blog (GPS and camera) are randomly inoperative...

Well so far I haven't had any trouble with those features, although it's only been on my phone for a day now.

Other than a couple FC's on initial installation, it seems pretty nice after the first reboot - amazing!  One thing I haven't gotten to work, however, is when in the camera app, I can't figure out how to zoom in and out- any ideas?  Also, "About Phone" FC's even after a reboot, so I couldn't tell you exactly what version I'm running :)

Thanks for the heads up on this, it looks like CM9 is going to work great on this old Incredible.

Yeah the FC on About Phone is a known bug. Looks like there is a lively thread on XDA for this ROM. The one thing that disappoints me is that the phone FCs when making or receiving a call when using the optimized tablet or phone modes. The only way I can get the phone to work is in stock phone mode, and then I can't use the tablet UI on any apps. But stock phone mode works great and proves ICS is viable on the Dinc.

I just noticed something this morning in that the CM 9 RC1 reference was removed from the Inc pages. Now I only see the 7.2 release reference. Didn't anyone hear why?

I never saw a CM9 reference Phonefreedom - thats why this thread has been talking about "alternative" sources.

Thats all I see about release candidates for our device.

That's because all these CM9 builds we're talking about are unofficial (kangs) by users and unsupported by CyanogenMod.

I found another CM9 kang for the Dinc and it's very solid. Using it now:

I agree with stretch the CM9 unoffical nightlies are fantastic only thing that I get FC's on is camcorder. The camera and GPS work fine as well as the other functions. Make sure you opt in to statistics if you pick this up so the CM team can see that there is still interest in CM9 for the INC

what I don't get is why the friggin FASCINATE is getting CM9 but not the Inc.  Inc has more internal storage and nearly identical specs for everything else.
