I just installed this yesterday.  It works flawlessly, and I love it, except one bug.  Every time I reboot the phone, I get a notification that says "New voicemail (9)".  I do not have any voicemails from Sprint (I use Google Voice normally for voicemail).  I called my number and left myself a new Sprint voicemail and deleted it, and that did nothing.  I've searched many hours on the forums and have not found a solution.  Has anyone found a solution for this?

Same deal, however I use the Sprint native voicemail.  Mine appears at each boot, as well as random times throughout the day.  There are no messages, new/old/saved.  I can clear the notification, but it returns.

There is a zip available with a fix in it. I had it but lost it when sd took a dump. I will see if I can find it

I'm getting the same thing... telling me to dial *86 and all I get is some message about Sprint and Virgin Mobile.

graff_king ; hoping you find that fix :)

I think this: http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=731637 might be what you gents are looking for. There's a link: http://forum.xda-dev...14&d=1279567419 for sprint vvm update.

Problem is, I flashed this myself after having vvm issues upon flashing cyan6. It helped, in a way. Instead of not working at all, I now get "You have new voicemail that cannot be downloaded." Any ideas?

I use Google Voice, so I don't need the Sprint voicemail app. I just want the "New voicemail" notification to go away permanently.

Yeah, I think people in CM5 called it the "phantom voicemail." I get it, too. Was wondering how to get rid of it. Let's see if the link works?

EDIT: Checked the thread, it's long! If anyone finds the fix on there, please post the link with the exact fix. Thanks!

At this point I have tried every trick for fixing the voice mail. If someone could find a fix I would be ecstatic. I spend at least 30 min every night searching for a fix.

This didn't work unfortunately.  The search continues.

Well, after two hours on the phone with Sprint, I can confirm that they cannot help in any way.  I had them reset my voicemail completely (among other things), and that did nothing.

I don;t seem to have any voicemail option.  I get an SMS saying xxx-xxx-xxxx has sent you a print voice message.  Call 408-970-2222 to listen.  What happened?  Does Cyanogen mod not have a voicemail application?

I think voicemail is supposed to be *86 but I get some sprint/virgin mobile message.

I installed Sprint VVM (Visual voice mail) and it works just fine, I blocked the message from 9016 with the xxx-xxx-xxxx sent you a voicemail message... but upon booting my EVO i get a message that I have a new voicemail and to dial *86

Anyone figure this out yet? It's not a deal breaker this Rom is fantastic just be nice to permanently kill that notification.

Which notification? The one upon boot or the one from 9016 when you actually get a voicemail?

No surprisingly I have not had that one just the voice mail icon at reboot, the one in the task bar. Hoping somebody figured it out, I tried it all.

yeah unfortunately, this IS a dealbreaker for me.  this phone is my lifeline and i am good for 50-100 calls per day.  MANY times people get my voicemail and i need to know when they are there.  it's a shame because i love this ROM.

Hey, I installed the VVM app, and while I get text notifications, nothing happens in the app.  The app just says, "No voicemails."  What might be wrong?

I am having this same problem on the newest Stable build. At boot I get a VM notification. If I call the *86 it tells me that the feature code is invalid.

Anyone find anything out yet?

Yeah, I'm also having this issue.  Mine says New voicemail (5).  Even when I clear the notification, it comes back after a while.

Hasn't stopped me from using CM but it is annoying at times. Google Voice is what I have setup for my voicemail service but I still get the non GV notification.

Really... a "deal breaker"?  Dude, just 'swipe' away the notification. DONE. If it comes back however... It doesn't come back for me though.
