how can i add sweep2wake function to sensation xe. i have tried bricked kernel and faux123 kernel but wifi and usb connection did not work.
is there any way to add that function without breaking other things?

It has to be done through a 3rd-party kernel (as far as I know), but you would have to get with those kernel developers to see why it is breaking other things (with my phone, I have to flash a boot.img through fastboot and then flash the modules in ClockworkMod to get everything working.
