I have cm 7.2 rc 3

This is kind of odd. When the screen sleeps or if I turn it off myself, then when I try to wake it by using the power button or volume rocker button, the screen will turn on for half a second, then go blank. Its still on lock screen cause the home buttons are lit and I have to wait a few seconds for it to time out and try again. Its kind of hit or miss. Doesn't always do this. I've deleted dalvik, etc. I use screbbl pro. It never did any of this till CM, so I figure its associated with this somehow. Thoughts?

7.2 stable was just released. Can you update to that and see if the issue still exists?

Although I am not the threadstarter I want to notice that I have the same problem with 7.2. There is a bug report from someone else too: as I am not allowed to post links: it is issue 5463 "Screen goes blank on wake by from power button, and when during call you take the phone away from ear - CM 7.2"

First I thought maybe the power button starts to break (like it did for many n1 before) but the problem was also with "Volume-Wake".
At the moment I can't reproduce the problem but as soon as the problem hits me again I will try to have a look at logcat.

Ok. I have a logcat now but no idea what to look for. I could paste it but have no idea if it contains data that I better don't want to be readable to the whole world

Probably best to post it on that bug report. Developers don't frequent the forums, so it is likely to go unseen by someone who could possibly fix the problem.

Thanks all. I forgot that I have the same problem with during a call taking my phone away from ear and still blank. I did notice that after going to the stable release of 7.2, that the problems are less frequent. In fact I don't think I've had the problem with the wake up, but still have an issue with during a call.
If you find an answer outside this forum, please let me know.

SportingCHap: sry for the late reply! Yes. I turned off screen anmiations and it does work. Thank you. Know we just need to get that bug fixed

I have the same problem. When I end a call screen goes black and sometimes it's impossible to turn on the screen again!
