Hello, I would like to tell you some of the problems that I faced in this ROM and I could not solve in any way.

1 - The GPS does not always work(need reboot) and often, when not working, the version of the baseband is illegible
2 - The applications that use the GPS continue to draw power even after their termination (free RAM and terminated process) until you restart the phone
3 - The automatic luminosity function does not work
4 - The widget to control the phone (wi-fi, bluetooth, GPS, ...) does not work synchronously with the buttons on the top bar: ex , when I activate the GPS from the top bar, this is not reported in the active widget

The first 2 problems, both connected to the GPS, are very serious because, every time you must use the GPS you are forced to many reboots of the phone, and for Android is very costly in both time and resources

PS: I am a graduate in computer engineering and I assure you that I have made all possible attempts to solve problems

Thank you so much for the work you do and I apologize for English :)

Ianni Mauro

EDIT: the problems persists with the RC3

Look like the problem didn't get fixed even on stable release too.
I installed cyanogenmod twice from scratch and my gps still doesn't get the fix.

Does anybody has a solution?

Thanks in advance

Procx, you pointed out a possible relation between baseband version and gps malfunction. Could you please provide me (us) more evidences?

Thanks in advance.

As usual, a quick search on Google would solve this problem. ;)
I still can't post links as I don't have 50 messages, but look for cyanogenmod issue and you'll find it.

Have you tried configuring the NTP server in /etc/gps.conf for your region? That worked for me, now GPS is working great. Needs reboot.

GPS is working fine here too with the stable 7.2.0 version: try GPS Status, it usually gets your position pretty quickly.

try latest nightly from july 8th:
http://get.cm/get/je...IGHTLY-p500.zip

GPS works for me - only sometimes it hangs in background and drains battery after switching to standby - but this also happens in 7.2.0 stable.
