7.2 RC2 and RC3 extremely slow during network activity

I skipped 7.2 RC1, but got on board with RC2 and now RC3.  I've noticed for both of them that during any network activity (for example, if I go from having data disabled to enabling it, causing email to be checked, my google account to be synched, etc.) everything (menus, apps, the status bar, etc.) becomes extremely slow, nearly to the point of unresponsiveness.  Once data transfer is done (which I can see via 2G/3G/4G in the status bar upload/download arrow indicators) everything is snappy again.  This didn't happen at all with 7.1.  It seems to happen with wifi as well, though because my wifi connection is faster the period of unresponsiveness is shorter.

Is anyone else seeing this?  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I haven't tried wiping / reinstalling because I'm afraid it'll be a hassle to set everything up again, but is there some middle ground that might help (like wiping just a cache or something)?

Anyway, thanks for any help!

Well, I'm happy to state that upon upgrading to the 7.2 release version yesterday, these problems magically disappeared.  So someone fixed the bug somewhere.  I love it when problems fix themselves like that.  Thanks to those who took a look at my post and considered the problem, anyway!

Just adding that I noticed some sluggishness when switching to the car mode I have set up on 7.2 stable release--this mainly turns wifi off/Bluetooth on, though it does use a widget control for tasker to do the switching, so that's a potential reason.

Anyone else see this? It's not nearly as extreme as that described above, but still a nuisance.
