Phone number format

Hi
Can someone explain me why CM imports AND exports contacts in this format: nnn-nnn-nnnn while my vcf file and my contacts list was not in this format (it was nnnnnnnnnn) ?

I can't edit the vcf file quickly on a computer (with replacing function) because the format is changed again while importing !
I hate that :(
