Hello there! I'm having a strange issue with the stock camera app in CM 7.2 RC1.
Whenever I record a video in 800*480 resolution (High Quality) everything works fine until I use the digital zoom. If I set the zoom before taking a video, it seems to be ok, but if I change the zoom while taking a video, the UI will eventually freeze and FC while attempting to stop recording and the video itself won't be saved at all. After that, the camera is not recognized by any app. A reboot solves this.
The problem is still there after clearing camera data.
Anyone experiencing the same issue?

I haven't seen this issue around the forum, but you may want to try and file a bug report. But before you do that, I would make a nandroid backup of your phone and then manually wipe the /system partition, then perform a Factory Reset/Data Wipe. Then reinstall CM and gapps and see if your problem goes away. This removes any possibility of an incorrect setting or app causing your problem. If the problem is still there, post the bug report.
Once you are finished, you can just restore your nandroid backup and be back at where you were before.

Just tried on mine and the same thing happened, and I'm using 7.1 stable... I've had it happen one other time before but I thought it was just a glitch at the time. We deff need a bug report for this.

Sorry but I can't do a bug report, as I just swapped ROM to a CM9-based one (Andromadus
) and the issue isn't there. Anyway, I don't know if it has been fixed by the CM team or by the developer of the ROM itself.

I've starred and replied in an existing bug report for you since I have the issue as well and so do many others with that camera.apk. It seems to have been broken even before 7.0 =/
