With "nightlies" coming every 10 days or so and still no CM9 in sight I have to wonder whats going on?

Is there some missing binary blob from motorola or something that stops Atrix cm7 getting on the automated nightlies build system?

and the same question for cm9 too!

I'd kinda got the idea in my head that the vast amount of stuff (excluding device specific settings apps) above the kernel was generic...

Its a shame that there isn't a two package update system, the kernel / device specific package and the generic android update package, this would make it very much easier on the build server for all devices...

The CM7 updates have been minimized due to the lack of work on CM7 (since most developers are working on CM9). And ICS had some major changes graphic-wise which has required a huge undertaking for older devices. Some of these devices still may never get CM. And the Atrix may just not have a stable enough build of CM9 (if it is working at all). The best place to check would be the xda forums to see if they have unofficial CM9 builds there.

So it's not about Atrix..it's about CM7..that's why we're not seeing so many releases for Atrix?

Another thing that i want to know..that is some kind of "roadmap" for Atrix written by CMTeam somewhere?..i'm not asking about when it will come..i want to know what's already done??..what needs to be done??..these kind of things..

I'm already looking on XDA over jokersax, stevendeb, turl and many other's work..but i dont know one thing..their work is not related to cyanogenmod right?..or they're cyanogenmod developers??

I don't know most of the names involved with development. In fact, anyone can become involved. It may be that those are the people working on getting a usable version of CM9 on the Atrix, and when they do, they will submit the code to the CM codebase to get official support.

There are no public roadmaps for any devices that I am aware of.

I am still running a phone that is almost 2 1/2 years old. Just because a phone doesn't get the latest release doesn't mean it is obsolete :)

But yes, the phone industry is moving a lot faster than the PC industry ever did. Less than a year ago the dual core phones were just coming out, and now quad core seems to be the norm for high-end phones.

@chris_c

If you are looking for a working cm9 build for your atrix then i would check out jokersax CM9 rom, it is perfectly stable.
There are a few things that aren't working yet (fingerprint unlock) but it never force-restarts or crashes the phone
Jokersax: http://www.jokersax....genmod-9-atrix/

Theres also some useful information over at XDA:
