I think we deserve it after all the money we've spent on support. The developers swan around in their flash new cars with their trophy girlfriends and we're left here with just Android 2.3.7 on our so-called 'smartphones' without a simple answer to a simple question - when will you give me my upgrade?
I would like to think this is sarcastic, but if not... What money have you spent on support? Everything here is free. Nobody is telling you that you have to pay for this ROM. I certainly don't ask for any money for all the support I provide on this forum. Sure, they accept donations, but that is all they are, donations. Donating to CM doesn't guarantee anything (or I would already have CM9 on my Nexus One). Currently, neither one of the phones that I own are supported by CM9 (the Nexus One is supported by CM7 and both the Nexus One and the HTC One X have unofficial builds of CM9, but so does the Desire).
And "Android 2.3.7" is more than you had without rooting your phone and flashing a custom ROM on it. 2.3.3 is the latest version available for the Desire and that is only if you download it from the htcdev site and install it yourself. Otherwise, it would still be stuck with a Froyo aka 2.2 version.
