I'm not asking for ETA's i'm not stupid, but since our phone (bravo) is the most popular CM device, which also has most downloads - http://stats.cyanogenmod.com/
I think we deserve some kind of update, if it's being worked on, or if we get it or not - just anything, lack of any information is depressing.

I did read the sticky thread, which is redirecting to https://plus.google....533781522/posts for any news (and even someone saying about posting weekly updates in there), so i went there, checked last 2 months and there is no single news about HTC Desire, or about ICS being ported on it.

Thanks in advance.

Totally agree with you. Just some information would be nice. If there will not be a CM9 for the Desire I'm fine with that. But just mention if this is the case or not.

I'm sure if they had news they would share it. They don't like to say how things are progressing, because they may get people's hopes up. I am in the same boat as you guys (the Nexus One has almost identical hardware), but I doubt we will hear anything until they either have nightlies for it or they announce it won't have official support.

I do believe there are unofficial builds in the xda forums (I know there are for the N1), so if you are dying to try it out, you can check it out there.

From the flow chart posted showing the likelyhood of various phones getting CM9, the Desire has about a 50% chance of getting an offical port of CM9.
Given the lack of nightlies I'd guess it won't, but there is some pretty usable unofficial ports on XDA.

I think we deserve it after all the money we've spent on support.  The developers swan around in their flash new cars with their trophy girlfriends and we're left here with just Android 2.3.7 on our so-called 'smartphones' without a simple answer to a simple question - when will you give me my upgrade?

I would like to think this is sarcastic, but if not... What money have you spent on support? Everything here is free. Nobody is telling you that you have to pay for this ROM. I certainly don't ask for any money for all the support I provide on this forum. Sure, they accept donations, but that is all they are, donations. Donating to CM doesn't guarantee anything (or I would already have CM9 on my Nexus One). Currently, neither one of the phones that I own are supported by CM9 (the Nexus One is supported by CM7 and both the Nexus One and the HTC One X have unofficial builds of CM9, but so does the Desire).

And "Android 2.3.7" is more than you had without rooting your phone and flashing a custom ROM on it. 2.3.3 is the latest version available for the Desire and that is only if you download it from the htcdev site and install it yourself. Otherwise, it would still be stuck with a Froyo aka 2.2 version.

(They do say that `the German sense of humour is no laughing matter`..perhaps they're on to something!)

I like to think that it was obvious that I was being sarcastic, at the expense of the self-entitled who expect more than just free software for their phone.  HTML definitately needs some sort of `sarcasm` tag, I feel. If you could do something about the idiots who plague every single article posted onto Google+ with tens of comments, asking when their phone is going to get CM 7.2 or 9 it would be nice!  It makes looking for information that much more tedious.

Sorry, I've seen enough of these posts that I wouldn't put it past anyone. And actually, I am not German, I am American, but I have been living here for the past 5 years (maybe it has done something to me). But in September I will leave this place back to the good ole US of A.

And I would love to do something about all the people constantly asking, but I can't even control it in the forum (they prefer us not to delete threads unless duplicates or spam). But I do totally agree there needs to be a sarcasm tag.

They ARE duplicates...lol!   Perhaps if the 'where's my rom' comments were just moved to a huge page full of all the other identical comments then they're not technically getting deleted and people might take the hint?  I've tried blocking people who post them on Google+ but it seems that it's different people each time so that doesn't really help.

Well the point is we are not asking for ETA, i'm sure all the Desire owners would like to hear if there is still any chance for CM9!
I cant believe after months there is still not even an update like " we are still trying", "it's being worked on" or "no chance for CM9, it's abandoned".
It actually feels like Bravo has been forgotten.

Also i still tried to follow this link from pinned thread, https://plus.google....533781522/posts but there was nothing either.

Unfortunately, this is the way that CM operates. We have to wait. I am in the exact same boat as everyone else waiting to see if my Nexus One will be officially supported (or my brand-new HTC One X for that matter).

I've been keeping an eye on the unofficial CM9 port (over here at XDA).  It sounds like it's all pretty much working, but it's still at the stage of needing a custom kernal and libs after flashing, so I don't think it's ready for general use yet.
So, it looks like CM9 will just fit on the Desire/Bravo, but it might be a bit too much of a hack for an official release.

(Personally, my contract is up in July, so I'll almost certainly upgrade my phone then, and I think it'll be another HTC for me, given how much I've liked my Desire)
