CM9 still is a work in progress on all phones. The CM team is still constantly working on it. Unfortunately, they aren't willing to take official bug reports until they release the first Release Candidate. Until then, you can occasionally try newer versions and see if the problem is resolved. Also, if there are any nightly threads for your phone either here or on xda, you could try occasionally posting to that to see if others have the same problem. A developer might notice it there.

I know there have been talks between T-Mobile and the dev team to get the theme engine that was working on CM7 ported over to CM9, so hopefully it will get finished and added in soon. And I'm sure the other options will slowly work their way back in before CM9 is finalized.

Theme Chooser needs a lot of framework support that doesn't exist in CM9. That is probably what it preventing you from installing it.

It isn't an app that can just change themes on any phone running any Android OS. The ROM needs a lot of work done behind the scenes to allow Theme Chooser to work. CM7 was the first ROM to include this.

My problem is a bit different. I love the ROM, but there is one thing I don't like about it. The new camera app. I know it's the stock android ics camera, but the reason why I sold my Galaxy S II and returned to Galaxy S (i9000) was that I loved the camera so much in the first Galaxy S. Especially the vintage effect, which is not found in the new camera apps.

Is there any way to change the camera.apk to the one I had in Eclair/Froyo/Gingerbread? I've tried with root explorer. Downoaded the old camera.apk and replaced it but as I wanted to start it it could not be installed.

But if you were running the stock firmware, then most likely there is no way to get the camera app working on ICS. But if this was a CM app you had, then most likely it will eventually get added to CM9. CM9 is still very much unfinished. They haven't had a chance to get all of the features from previous CM builds into CM9. But there are a number of 3rd-party camera apps that can give you filters like Vintage. Camera360 (I think it is still called that) had something like that, and I am sure Instagram has what you need (considering all the "Vintage"-style pics I see on my facebook feed from Instagram users).

Not only for the camera. No matter what anyone says, I like the colors and the overall look of the SAMOLED of SGS a lot better than the SAMOLED+ on the SGSII.

Plus: You can get Voodoo Louder for SGSII, but it will not have the best option that Voodoo Sound offers for SGS, NExus S and the first Tab only: the possibility to record good quality sound. Voodoo Sound enables you to adjust the sensitivity of the microphone to the environment. Which means that you can even shoot a video on a concert and get a good sound. Try it with any other android device.

So, two rounds lost by SGSII and I haven't even got to taking pictures yet really.

Let's see the camera. Videos first. SGSII has an 8 MP camera which does not shoot better pics than the 5 MP camera of the SGS. Honestly, I'm fine with taking 720p videos with SGS, don't really need to shoot 1080p videos which are way over 100MB a minute. Here comes an interesting part: when I moved the SGSII camera a little faster the autofocus could not handle it and I got nice lags and my friends experienced the same so it was not a unique problem.

And finally, the vintage effect. You can get cool vintage effects on android apps that you can download, but none of them come even close in the quality of the colors. Some HTC models have the same stock vintage effects, but those aren't as nice either. 3 weeks ago I was at a mobile meeting and went to the HTC tent. We made the same picture with the vintage effect on both the HTC One X and the SGS and even the HTC guys said that the colors on the SGS look far far better. We sent the pictures on bluetooth and checked them on the same monitor.

I am obsessed with this vintage effect in SGS (especially the warm vintage one). If you don't believe me, give it a try. Or check it out here: http://www.careace.n...re-walkthrough/
I hope I'm allowed to add links in the forum.
I came from a different ROM (2.3.6, not stock), not Cyanogen, but it had the same camera app as the stock ROMs.

I hope it is noweasier to understand why I did this change. Everyone have their own preferences.

Well, CyanogenMod can't legally include the camera app from the stock ROM. So you are likely to never see this unless someone has it as a 3rd-party mod you can flash. You would have to check on xda forums. Maybe someone has already done this.

Please start your own thread on this. And post any errors or logs that you can find. And if you are running CM9, be warned that it is still very much a work in progress. Development is happening at a fast pace and things sometimes get jacked up. If it is truly a bug (and not an actual change in the way the memory is handled) then I am sure it will be fixed in subsequent nightlies.

I've already checked, but haven't found anything. Isn't the camera app currently in CM9 a stock ICS camera app? I've seen it in many devices. I don't see the difference legally in using this or that camera app, but I believe you. Thanks anyway.

I think you should read before you laugh. The phone manufacturers fool most of the people with their bullshit like increasing the numbers of megapixels, making 0.05 mm slimmer phones and bigger screens. Seems like you've been fooled as well. I do have first hand experience with the SII and I know what I'm talking about. And it's not just the camera. My SGS with 2.3.6 and a customer ROM I would not name here beats the SII even in speed. From what I've read about the SIII, it won't be a revolutionary phone, especially not worth selling your SGS and adding a couple hundred euros to it to get one of the new fancy toy with a premature stock rom which will probably be laggy.I've done that with the SII and I would still regret it if I couldn't make a good deal of it when I sold it. Though I got the SII half a year after it appeared on the market, so there already were way better ROMs than the stock ones.

Not everything included in ICS is released in the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) codebase. In Gingerbread, the launcher app that was included with almost all phones was proprietary (as are all the google applications, which is why the gapps package isn't included with CM). The code for the Gingerbread Launcher was not included in AOSP which is why the CM team used a modified version of ADW Launcher. I am not sure if the stock ICS camera app is opensource, but I know that the one included with the HTC One X isn't (and I'd bet that Samsung modified the camera app as well). So if/when a CM version comes out for the One X, it won't include the extra functionality (unless someone is able to figure out how to code it separately).
