i know there are other posts about boot loops but of all ive found everyone can still get into clockwork mod recovery.  i was using cm7 for about a month with no problems then this morning it wanted to start force closing programs as i was using it.  so from previous experiences i rebooted the phone (BAD).  after the reboot it get stuck in a boot loop.  pull the battery and go to HBOOT and i click on factory reset and it goes to the page with "bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader, and power down."  same when i click on clear storage.  i CANNOT get into clockworkmod recovery.

i am uploading a 3 minute video to photobucket of what is taking place. i will post the link  once its done uploading.  probably half an hour or an hour from now

The easiest method would be to get CWM Recovery in a PB31IMG.zip and have it upgraded via hboot.

I'm having this same exact issue. Thanks for the video upload. Any suggestions out there on how to fix this?? I have CWM installed, but when I select "recovery" from the bootloader screen, it vibrates, then goes to the "fastboot" menu.

I had a similar Issue with my X2 which is why I now have an Incredible in my hands. I don't know if it is this, but if a piece of hardware malfunctions, the OS will boot to 'safe mode.' On my CM7 port for the X2, the safe mode wouldn't work, forcing a boot loop. I had to "Master Reset" my phone (Motorola gives this handy tool out, don't think HTC does) to see that this was the issue. My hardware that malfunctioned was the search key (the X2 had buttons not the soft keys the Inc has) I had to let it dry out and luckily it started working. Now I use my X2 as a home wifi device and my Inc is the daily driver.

Hope this helps. Sorry I can't be of too much help, as I don't know how to "Master Reset" HTC devices yet, or if it is even possible as master reset turns your phone back to "out of box" conditions (best thing for warranty issues)

wait a second.  this is my problem lol.  i cannot get into cwm recovery...well kind of.  i get to it but i cant do anything.  all it does is restart the phone or go back to the previous screen.  i cant wipe delvik cache or factory reset or anything.  thats my problem.  if i could completely wipe it or something from my computer that would be awesome but i highly doubt i could do that

>>Brandon!
I totally woke up and realized what the bootloading issue is - well for me. I wasn't running Nightly Builds, because stable is the way to go, right? Well, not anymore.

About two weeks ago I was getting random reboots and FCs, but I didn't do anything until it started bootlooping yesterday. That was super bothersome, so I went back and reloaded the last stable build, 7.2.0, right? Everything was fine, went to google store and updated three apps: Play, Clockwork, and SuperUser; all the default apps, updated. no sooner had they finished than it started bootlooping again. I didn't know what to do. I left the battery out for hours, cleared the cache several times, even tried reloading the rom. I wake up fifteen minutes ago and realize it's the stupid Google Apps/Play Store! And the only way to fix that is with a new build. And the only new build that are occurring are the Nightlies.

If that doesn't work (going and installing the latest Nightly), then I have no idea what's up.

Also, when I did the nightly update, I didn't have to update any of the default apps (Play, CW, SU)! I'm going over to the Nightlies' thread to see how long support is continuing.
