Let us know how that goes for you. I'm in the same boat, I'm not super impressed with 7.2 though, I get FCs all the time, lagging, i clear my cache all the time and it hardly helps at all. I want something different at this point for sure.

Clearing cache really doesn't do much to prevent those issues. If you are having freezing and force closes, the first thing I would do is wipe your /system partition. You can do this in your recovery under the Mounts and Storage menu. Then just reinstall CM and gapps.
As for trying out ICS, just try out the various options, but make a backup of your CM7 install so you can switch easily.

I wouldnt flash any of those roms as a daily driver. I tried them a couple wks ago, and they are just too buggy at the moment. Since the AMAZE had an official leak, I would wait just a little longer, and something more stable will drop real soon..

I've been running IceColdInsomnia for quite some time now and I've had a few hiccups here and there, but I'd say that you could use it as a daily driver. As for zipsnet, I've used it in the past and I could say the same for that ROM as well. I'm not sure about the unofficial CM9, since I've yet to try it, but I've heard good things about it. There are minute differences between each ROM such as the source from which each one is built from. Other than that they are pretty similar.

I don't think the Amaze official ICS leak will help with ICS development on this phone. The hardware is just too different. From what I've heard the Desire HD is most similar to the mytouch 4G/Glacier, so when an official update drops for that phone I'd expect ICS ROMs to become much more stable than they already are.

I've used all three. Big problems (for me) on all of them. Menu text getting garbled, apps not functioning, market getting stuck on "downloading", just general annoyances all around.
I am much happier using CM7.1 and adding themes to look like ICS. Other than the look, there isn't really much difference in the UI anyway.
But without question if you want the most stable one, I'd go with the elginsk8r ROM. The others are AOKP and the additional tweaks cause problems... again, in MY opinion.

I have been using:
http://forum.xda-dev...d.php?t=1688536
as my daily driver for a week or so. It's so stable I can't believe it's not released by Cyanogen. The ONLY partial functionality at all is Wifi-Calling which is being worked on as I type this post.
