I am up to the 4/13 nightly. I cannot hear any outgoing dials or incoming calls/voice through my earpiece on the vibrant. I can hear everything if I turn on the speakerphone. Does anybody know how to fix this?

1. The earpiece on the Vibrant or via a headset?
2. You can't hear anything at all?

Just get the latest update and do a full wipe (data, cache partition, format /data), then flash latest version.

To faultexception: the /datadata is filling up.  would the cm7 solutions work to fix it or do you know if the CM developers will integrate a fix in a future nightly?

Thanks!

Find a program called Terminal Emulator.  Type in (without quotes) "df" and press enter.  a bunch of information will come up.  Find the line that reads "/datadata".  If there is very little free space in /datadata, you will need to address it.  There is a thread near the top discussing this.

Otherwise, you may have a bad flash.  When I tried flashing an updated nightly something similar happened.  If you performed a back up, restore to the previous version and try again or try again but do a full wipe first and make sure you got the updated gapps.  If you still have the same issue, then restore to the last version that worked and wait for a new nightly.

Good luck!!

Via a headset is fine. The earpiece gives me the problem.

A full wipe and a couple of battery pulls did the trick. I am running the 4/18 nightly and my audio problems appear to have been fixed. I will test my phone a little bit more thoroughly and report back later. Thanks a bunch!

Hi I have a T-mobile Samsung Vibrant, with a simple mobile 3g plan, after having to wait forever for Gingerbread to release, I decided to take the leap into custom roms.

You can probably skip this paragraph as it's only some background info and for search purposes have written in case it may help others along the way. I followed the online instructions, though a bit confusing, considering its a little dated, I succeeded. I had an issue with the ROM Manager App, it would not load the nightly build update-cm-9-20120418-NIGHTLY-vibrantmtd-signed.zip from 4/18/2012. The phone would restart into the Android recovery, instead of the Clockwork Mod Recovery screen, I later figured out I had to downgrade first from Android 2.2 stock (and rooted) to then be able to reboot into CMR. I was then able to "flash" cyanogenmod 9 and google apps.

My issue is that I'm not able to use my mobile data on any apps or browser, I was able to connect just fine using the instructions from the site itself, http://www.mysimplem...ng.aspx#Android, when I had the phone in stock rom and/or rooted. I'm able to make phone calls and receive messages, but unable to browse or download any apps unless I have connected through the wifi, which by the way works just fine. I haven't messed with any advanced settings aside from the personal & aesthetics of the phone. I also tried playing with the Mobile Network settings to perhaps see if it was an option like national data roaming or roaming data but to no avail. There is two things I did notice, when I bring down the notification drawer, it says T-mobile at the bottom, it should say Simple, as it did when it was stock. The other thing was that Network Operators (in Mobile Network settings) after searching it would only give me the choice between At&t and T-Mobile, same as the other issue it should have given me the option to choose simple mobile.

Not sure if I should just wipe and reinstall again? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: EvilNCarnate, I said I had Simply Mobile, which I tried their programming instructions: http://www.mysimplem....com/index.aspx are you telling me to try T-mobile programming to fix the problem?

Open terminal emulator and run:
touch /datadata/.nodatadata

Then reboot.

Which set of instructions did you run from there? Did you put in the settings for "Galaxy S (3G, 4G)"?

I used the instructions for "Android 1.6 and higher" settings, I just check "Samsung (3g, 4g)" instructions and it is, basically, the same thing reworded. I just tried the settings with the "reset to default" option for Samsung 3g and well it worked! Now I am getting a different error, while browsing it gives me 503. [LATER..] It just fixed itself after following the same instructions two more times. I left it at that, with the mentality of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

EDIT: I tried different apps, none are connecting initially after testing the browser.

If I restart my phone, the browser goes back and says: "Error: Requested Content 'www.google.com' cannot be accessed. Access is not allowed for this user agent." with any webpage. I tried "reset to default" again, and this time I am redirected to: androidapi.t-mobile.com/appack/mvno.html

Which shows on my phone:

Error 503--Service Unavailable

From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:

10.5.4 503 Service Unavailable

The server is currently unable to handle the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The implication is that this is a temporary condition which will be alleviated after some delay. If known, the length of the delay may be indicated in a Retry-After header. If no Retry-After is given, the client SHOULD handle the response as it would for a 500 response.

Note: The existence of the 503 status code does not imply that a server must use it when becoming overloaded. Some servers may wish to simply refuse the connection.

EDIT 2: So I just have to wait a bit before it enables the browser to use the data. Apps still can't connect though.

I might have missed something, but the 424 nightly burned my entire battery in about 6hrs. I've never had my system use more battery than my display before. Am I overlooking something?

CyanogenMod for the Vibrant currently contains intermittent issues with the emergency dialing system. I strongly urge you NOT to use CyanogenMod on the Vibrant until they can be fixed.

Help by testing

I haven't been on Youtube in a while, but today I couldn't get videos to play. I then tried to play videos on my phone (that used to work) and those won't play either. Lastly, video recording does not work as well. I am on 05052012 nightly with subzero #80. I saw some complaints about this on page 97 of the XDA discussion but I didn't see a response to it.

I had a weird problem over the weekend. Account sync randomly turned itself off, so I didn't get any Gmail messages, Talk messages, etc. I could not get the accounts to start syncing again properly, so I re-flashed and all is well again. CM9 20120424 nightly.

Also, GPS is not working at all. I see this a lot in logcat:

D/        (14483): agpsd.c : Child created, Parent exits : succes

The PID changes each time, of course.

dmesg gives:

<5>[10957.725373] init: starting 'gpsd'
<6>[10957.730789] init: Created socket '/dev/socket/gps' with mode '660', user '1021', group '1000'
<6>[10957.777454] init: waitpid returned pid 14583, status = 00000000
<5>[10957.777634] init: process 'gpsd', pid 14583 exited
<5>[10957.777746] init: process 'gpsd' killing any children in process group
<6>[10957.778315] init: waitpid returned pid 14584, status = 00000009
<3>[10957.778432] init: untracked pid 14584 exited

It does this continuously, so this can't be helping battery life...

Also, I should note that GPS is turned off, but it's still trying to start it.

I've noticed this, gpsd is actually constantly forking I think, although GPS works even with this around. (Not for you, but for me)

I'm not able to get service on my Samsung Vibrant T959 (T-Mobile)

I've brought it back to stock, flashed cm7 and them cm9.  cm7 works fine.

With cm9, I get no service, baseband version is listed as unknown.  I've tried searching for a solution but can't find anything.  I'm assuming I just need a radio update.

Had a similar no service problem with 5/29 nightly also it devours the battery. Flashed 5/26 (which just happened to be the last nightly I flashed) and all it better (although battery life with 5/26 ain't nothin to write home about)

I had tried 5/27 with the same issue.  Maybe I'll wait a few days and try another nightly, or go back to 5/26.
