Seriously? We're all as anxious as you to get this fixed. I'd love to use it for Skype. However...
Porting and programming an OS is totally different from device drivers. They've pretty much covered that here: http://www.cyanogenm...progress-on-cm9

... and second paragraph:

At the end of the day, we're just lucky we're running Android at all. If you want to encourage them, send them money.

From your profile: Age - 18.
Time to grow up. The world doesn't owe you anything. These guys do this development on their own time and don't owe you a working camera and mic. Not happy? Go back to CM7 or stock, it was your choice to apply CM9.

Here's an idea: If you want a picture use your phone or (gasp) a camera. If you want to Skype boot into WebOS. Or shell out $400+ for a native Android tablet. Don't slam people who are building a OS for us to use on a touchpad (that we purchased for almost nothing in relation to a "real" Android tablet) that wasn't designed for it for FREE. I say thanks to all that have spent their time on this project and keep up the great work!

Three cheers for the guys who gave me a GREAT working system. All the hard work they must have put in to give me a superb Pad. I for one have nothing but admiration, and gratitude. So yes, I believe they care enough to give me this experience free. Well done developers, really well done.

Man, I'm waiting for the camera and mic input to work too- namely so I can use Square and turn this thing into a point of sale device... but I'm also aware of how much the CM team is charging for their work: F*CKING NOTHING. What kind of an ungrateful prick would I be to assume that they should work around MY deadline schedule?
I love CM, thanks for making it better every chance you get.

Not to mention, if you would actually do a little work for yourself, you'd find your answer. I know you probably aren't familiar with the word 'work', but that's when you actually make an effort to complete a task.
But here you go, I'll make it easy for you. The drivers for the touchpad's camera, simply do not exist for CM9. Typically, they will use the drivers from a camera that shares similar hardware, but since very few phones have received the ICS update from their makers, there are no drivers available yet. Thus, you have no camera on your touchpad. It's not like they didn't warn you before installing the 'ALPHA' level code.

This post was so important, it brought me out of lurking. Thanks OP
I'd like to take this opportunity to THANK the developers for caring. Yeah the camera doesn't work, and my touchpad hasn't yet been granted magical powers by this rom. But even if thats a few releases away, you guys do awesome work! You should all be given a medal for breathing new life into our once paperweight tablets!

Everyone jumping on whoever posted "developers do you care", Please ignore it. Many new comers on this forum may not know history behind CM team's sacrifices and what they try to do for free bees. So, instead of we old timer on this forum blasting, best thing is just ignore or post right CM team's information like few above did. This way, we pull more ignorant people in, stay connected and some point pitch-in donation to keep this holy efforts going.
