You guys need to leave those nightly builds alone. I have heard too many bad stories behind them. Cm7 and 9 is enough experimenting we need.

Wifi - same issue as alpha

I've just recently upgraded to ICS alpha2 myself.  Anyone care to summarize the improvements/fixes in the nightly builds over alpha2?  Would there be a particular nightly build # which is particularly stable and offers reason to upgrade?

nightlies have been fine for me, I've been running them since alpha 2 released. no issues. they're more stable than the alpha's because of the changes to the cm master. you may have just had a bad nightly from conflicting commits to the master. try a new one :)

I've installed CM9 20120404 nightly build from tenderloin today; it shows v.4.0.4 & 2.6.35 kernel.

It seems (only 12 hours since) it has stopped my wifi problems!!  8-)

Hope that helps  ;)

Nothing related to wifi has been added for over week now.

It's the 2nd time I install CM9 in my TP; 1st one was CM9 Alpha 2, so I'm comparing tenderloin's 20120404 vs Alpha 2 (dated february +-?).

Maybe my problem was not related to Alpha 2 but to anything else... I don't know for sure  8-?

Nightlies work alright, a few this have disappeared such as the default Calendar app and others, which I can't seem to get back. Otherwise no issues.

Do I need to reinstall gapps? I had alpha 2 ad now on build 04/08/12. Google play doesn't work. The screen resolution went back to the it icons. How can I get t back to alpha 2 look and functionality?

This isn't the first time you've tried to dictate to others what they should or shouldn't be doing with their touchpad.   There is an entire different thread on this forum with multiple people who have had experiences with nightly builds that are just fine.

You need to understand a few things about this project.  (typical numbered list incoming)

1. No one here has confused this entire project for anything other than experimental.  We all understand the risks of installing 3rd party software on our device that wasn't originally designed for   it.

2. Giving people blanket advice like "stay away from nightlies" helps no one. Not only can it give an unwarranted bad reputation to the developers, but it can potently cut off a valuable source of real world testing data to make the entire project better.  You might also convince someone to remain stuck in an outdated build that has frustrating bugs that have since been repaired.  This is also bad for the project as a whole.

3. Its just none of your darn business what people are doing with their own devices.  If someone wants to flash a build every day, stay on GB CM7, or use their touchpad for target practice it is their right to do so.

4. Your blanket advice is uinformed.  If you'd like to take a look at how they include changes/fixes and how they are vetted before inclusion, try taking a look here.  They aren't just arbitrarily throwing crap into the build like some 2-bit rom developer with no website, organization, and a single thread on [insert random clown filled forum here].

So stop trying to scare people off with generalizing and uninformed advice and worry about your own touchpad experiment.   We'll all be better off in the end.

I too was hesitant about installing nightly builds but after installing one I've haven't had any issues. I'm currently using the latest nightly build.

My response is silly and uncalled for because I put uninformed, unnecessary, and poor advice to rest?  Sure.  Look at the responses from others that have confirmed the point I was trying to make.  So WHO'S response is silly and uncalled for?  Yours?  ....I agree.   I provided factual, logical information and provided educational links instead of spewing irrational and ignorant fear mongering. If you cared anything at all about this project, you'd help by putting bad rumor starting advice, like what is written in the OP, to bed.  Good day, sir.

Hi Guys,
I just finished installing the latest Nightly Build- update-cm-9-20120412-NIGHTLY-tenderloin-signed.zip. However, I have a few problems now.
First of all, the Android market (Play Store) does not seem to be working any more. Whenever, I try opening it, it just crashes. However, pandora works and all other apps including the browser does work.

Secondly. the wifi Icon does not have any more color (previously it used to be Blue, indicating it was connected). I did have a wifi connectivity issue with my touchpad when I installed cm9 alpha 2. However, this problem got fixed just five days ago, when I installed the nightly version  released on 04-08-2012. I think, I might be pushing my luck too hard here and I hope I do not fall back into the same jinx.

Thirdly, can I revert back to a previous nightly built?

Please let me know, if the issue replicates or someone finds a fix.

Thanks
