First I'll apologize for my complete ignorance, despite how much I've read I still have no idea what I'm doing :/.
Here's what I've done to it so far. Rooted with revolutionary, ra-supersonic-v2.3, Agressive Freedom Kernel 0.9, mikg 3.0.
I'm wanting to load CM 7.2 but don't know if I need flash an aosp kernel. I read something about aosp being a basic system that doesn't use sense, so can I leave my sense Kernel (Aggressive Freedom 0.9) and just flash the CM7.2 to my phone? Only reason I'm so paranoid is all this boot loop crap I've read about this aosp stuff.
Thanks in advance.

Once you have the phone rooted and the Recovery image installed, here's what you do:
Backup any data you don't want to lose.
Copy The CM 7.1 image to your card
Copy the latest gapps to your card.
Boot into recovery
Wipe your system, data, cache and dalvik-cache partitions
Flash the CM image
Flash the Gapps
Reboot
Enjoy your new CM phone

Sense kernels are for sense roms. Aosp kernels are for Aosp roms. Mixing them can cause SERIOUS problems for your phone so make sure you're using an Aosp kernel (tiamat for example) and not a sense kernel (like anthrax) and you'll be fine. Don't worry. Just do what roofus said. You won't be missing anything (except sense. ) Aosp roms have their own built in launchers so you don't need sense anyway (if that is your concern.)

When you flash a rom the kernel is included. You can change out kernels afterwards but if you're on aosp you must use an aosp kernel, and if you're on sense you must flash a sense kernel. But roms include their own kernels to begin with you don't ever HAVE to switch kernels before flashing a rom in fact if you flashed a kernel then a rom the rom would overwrite the kernel anyway.
