Hello CM'lers :)

There are soo many Threads about CM 9 Nightlys that its hard to stay on top of things...

This will be (I hope so) the Main Support Thread for CyanogenMod 9 NIGHTLY's.
The Support will be only "User to User Support".
________________________________________________________
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.0 (ICS),
which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported!

Your warranty is now void.

I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
cause of male impotence.

DO NOT: Post full Bug Log's ( Post your link to http://pastebin.com/ for example )
DO NOT: Open another thread ( Maybe a Moderator will have a look at this ;) )
DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.

Install Instructions:

Newbie to all this? Scroll down and check the Noob-Proof Version!

First time installing CyanogenMod 9 to your Galaxy S II, or coming from another ROM:
- READ FAQs: http://teamhacksung.....sked_Questions
- Make sure you're running ICS bootloaders lower than LPH: Download (flash as PDA with odin or extract and $ sudo heimdall flash --primary-boot boot.bin --secondary-boot Sbl.bin)
- make sure you're running a proper working CWM like the one from CM7
- Copy GApps and CM9 ZIPs to your internal SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM9 zip
- Flash GApps zip
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your calendar sync will not work)
- Reboot
- Don't restore Apps using Titanium Backup!

Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9:
- Copy CM9 ZIP to your internal SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM9 zip
- Wipe cache partition and dalvik-cache
- Reboot

Using the noob-proof ODIN method:
- Download CM9 Resurrection Edition
- Download GApps and put it onto your internal sdcard
- Open Odin
- Choose cm-9-XXXXXXXX-ODIN-galaxys2.tar.md5 as PDA
- Boot your phone into download mode
- Connect your device via usb to your computer
- Wait till Odin has fully recognized your phone
- Hit the start button and wait till the flash process is finished
- Device boots automatically into recovery
- Flash GApps, wipe cache and dalvik-cache
- Reboot into CM9
- Follow above steps to update CM9 to lastest available version (Upgrading from earlier version of CyanogenMod 9)

Great thinking. Hopefully we can collaborate information posted here into the CM9 Organised Bug List if we can replicate the bug.

I have an issue with the stock keyboard.
Typing in Hebrew causes the keyboard to crash (without the crash pop-up). When the keyboard appears again and I resume the typing, the previously typed word gets deleted.

The issue doesn't appear when typing English or Russian.

How do I log that crash?

edit:

if that helps...

Video camera is almost working. In 30 nightly you can film in 480p and it will save it to SD card. You will even be able to play it. Still glitchy but device is now one step from fully functional video camera.

Nice vid! Shows my bird :D

Exactly the same here. But in my case 1080p videos worked to record (at least a video of 5s). But it was not possible to play the video afterwards.
480p works well indeed! Hurray!

This is Strange.
Maybe its a Font problem.

These are included in CM9 Nighltys:
DroidSansHebrew-Bold.ttf
DroidSansHebrew-Regular.ttf

You tested other keyboards?
For Example SwiftKey or Smart Keyboard if they are crashing too?

Didn't noticed problems with dialer yet.
can you describe it?

But in last Nightly there was a change:
Dialer: Underp the layout (android_packages_apps_Contacts)

in next Nightly they change this:
Dialpad : Disable overscroll for T9Top (android_packages_apps_Contacts)

maybe with this your Problem is fixed ;)

Sry for this man!

Before you installed the 30-Mar-2012 Nightly, you wiped all data / cache?
wipe data/factory reset

Thanks, next update look promising, I guess I will wait too..

I always do wipe cache + wipe Dalvik-cache but not the wipe data/factory reset because this means I will have to re-install all apps and settings all over again which will take a lot of time and bandwidth!

I will report the status once I installed the next update and hopefully it will be fixed! :) #FingerCrossed
