I flashed the 7.2.0 update yesterday and everything went smoothly. So far, I've only noticed one flaw. When I connect the USB to computer and phone, nothing happens. There is no attempt to install drivers, which I assumed wouldn't have changed. It doesn't even charge. Is there something I'm missing? Do I need to do a little tinkering with ADB? Any feedback would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Try checking your notification bar. It should have a USB connected item that, when chosen, will let you decide how to connect to the computer (ie None, USB Mass Storage). Choosing Mass Storage should allow your phone to be recognized on your computer and install necessary drivers.

The notifications bar had nothing. The computer nor phone recognize each other any longer. I tried the other USB ports just in case but that did nothing either.

My Atrix is having just about the same issue, I plug the cable into the computer and into the phone. I have the notification in the bar to charge only or to use with sd access and I chose to use the sd card access. My computer makes a sound to let me now that it has detected that something is being plugged in but nothing ever shows. My phone also repeatedly flashes across the bottom that the sd has been removed and that it has now been inserted and is in use by the computer and it spazes out flashes those three messages very quickly until the cable is unplugged. Does anyone have any idea how to sort this out?

I don't even get the option in my notification bar. Mine literally does nothing when I connect the USB.

Go to settings>Applications>Development
Check the "USB DEBUGGING" option & "USB DEBUGGING NOTIFY" option

Both are enabled and still nothing. Nothing I can't work around but emailing myself files is quite annoying.

Well, since this is a post on the atrix, Samsung Kies probably won't help my issue. As far as your HTC charging but no  SD access I doubt our solutions will be the same either unless it's in the form of a CM7 update/fix. My ATRIX however, does not charge, there are no notifications, the computer doesn't notice it's connected, the screen on my phone doesn't even light up. I've ultimately resorted to restoring 7.1 or Jokersax's ICS build when I need the functions since I'm a flash junkie anyway. For those of you with an atrix, I know this post turned into an unhelpful mess and for that, I apologize. Good luck.

I have this issue too. For some reason, there are only two options when I connect my phone to my computer via USB:
1) SD Card Access (or something along those lines)
2) Charge Only

The computer also fails to install the necessary drivers (MTP USB I think?) whenever the phone is plugged in.

There is no "USB Mass Storage" option that used to show up with the stock ROM (and with all other Android phones I have had, regardless of ROM)...

Hi, I have the same problem on my MB860.

My newly rooted and flashed Cyanogenmod Atrix was charging on the USB from my desktop computer just fine, but I changed it from "charge only" to "access flash" (or whatever equivalent text), and now I see no indicator for USB, and no charging :-(

At the very least, is there any setting to change it back to "charge only" independent of whether it's connected to the USB or not???

Dean.

I just plugged my not-so happy MB860 into my LINUX machine and watched the system logs.  It did not report any  USB detection, negotiation, or recognition.

It's almost as though the Atrix's USB device port was misconfigured by the setting "access flash" and therefore fails or is disabled.

At least it will charge when connected to the USB wall wart.  But it's a major pain in the butt that it won't even charge connected to my computer.  That's the way I charged it at work - the whole "transfer stuff to and from the flash" thing was a very minor issue relative to charging.

So, is there any way to change this setting back?  I suspect there is, under the surface - but I see nothing in the settings GUI.  I would even be willing to go in under the surface - but hopefully it's not as obtuse as unlocking/rooting/loading Cyanogenmod.  [ NB I'm an embedded systems engineer with 30 yrs experience doing hardware, firmware & software, and I found it obtuse - but hey I'm not afraid of the command line or vi even! ]

Dean.

Well what do you know, it suddenly re-appeared like magic, and now works fine.  Don't know what I did to fix it, perhaps a reboot of the phone.  In any case, problem went away.  It's worth noting that it occurred though, in case it happens again.
