i also am missing the settings of the launcher.
but also i get a softreboot after entering my pin. after the bootanimation runs for the second time, i don't have to enter it again. So i think there might be something gotten wrong with my flash... or is anyone else experiencing this behaviour?

so I flashed todays nightly: launcher settings are back and the softreboot disappeared... everything back to normal

For the last nightlies (I don't know from when exactly), I'm unable to use another movie player than the google one. BSPlayer, MX Player, Dice Player, none works. And then, after having tried to use them, even the google one doesn't work anymore, and camera doesn't work either anymore. Does someone have the same problem or I need a full wipe ?

I'd start by wiping the particular apps.

Thank you. That's what I did at first, but still the same problem.

EDIT : Only a full wipe fixed this problem. Now all is good again.

I got a bug on MMS, when I try to send MMS, after 2 seconds the radio stop working and restart (like a reboot of the radio)

I've got the same problem with the stock MMS app and with handcent

Lastest CM9 build
My base band version is I9250XXLA2

Thank for advice

Christophe

Update: After changing my APN MMS work again, but this that's the radio look like "reboot"

I wondering if anyone else has been having problems tethering with the last few nightlies. I've tried doing a wipe to see if that would fix it, but it hasn't.

Just a note if anyone else encounters my problem. On the latest nightly (1805) update (without wipe) my camera app started force closing on launch. Wiping app cache and data, followed by the force stop fixed it.

FYI: Have just installed 20120520, it's running well.

I find CM9 (in general, considering we are flashing nightly builds) a very stable ROM indeed. More stable than any other (kanged) ROM out there. MIUI is the other big player but it's launcher is quite laggy.

General tips

1. For anyone having battery issues: use better battery stats (available for free on market) to check for partial wake locks to find the culprit.
2. The facebook app is notorious for eating cpu (and therefore battery)....
3. Do not use titanium backup to restore system settings because settings will change over time. A clean (factory reset) start now and again between ROM flashes is Not A Bad Thing ™.

Enjoy!

Chris

Hi guys, I'm relatively new to CM and the Gnex is my first Android device. I've been using this device for about a month now and more or less have it working the way I want it to, thanks to the CM9 Nightlies!

I'm using Clockwork Mod recovery and have been using it to Flash new nightlies as they become available. Just this weekend, though, I noticed that my Wifi performance is seriously degraded and very slow. At first I thought it was my connection, but further testing narrowed the issue to my Gnex only. I get very long 1000+ms ping times using the speedtest app and get a stuttery 1-2mb/s down and up, when every other device in my house (6+) is showing upwards of 20mb/s down and 2mb/s up. I have replicated the horrible ping and download times from various wifi hotspots.

To test further, I reverted to a backup nightly with no change. I went back as far as my 04/29 build and the problem remained. Maybe I just didn't notice it before, but I'm not certain. I have even flashed other ROMs such as AOKP and speedtest showed superfast results.

I googled this issue and found some mention of it in past CM7 builds, but nothing for CM9, so now I am posting here. The old threads I found mentioned that CM uses its own wifi drivers and not the Google ones. Is this still true? Is anyone else having this issue or does anyone have any suggestions for me to try to get my Wifi working great again?

TIA.

On stock GNs with this issue people have found it is much happier with certain routers and APs.

You mean cm9 kernel handles wifi less than stock kernel?

Regards,

Chris

If it behaved as you described they could be using the same Wifi code.  I hope that's not the case because I plan on flashing CM9.

I'm back. I found out what the issue was with my wifi slowness and awful ping times.

I did a wipe data and installed the latest Nightly and my speedtest results were awesome again. After reinstalling my apps one by one, I've been running speedtest each time and found that Doubletwist/Airsync is the cause of my slowness. Uninstalling and then rebooting fixes the speed/ping issue right away.

A question about Apollo music manager....I think it is not included yet...'cause i've flashed "update-cm-9-20120522-NIGHTLY-maguro-signed.zip" and the music app is the old-style one similar to CM7 one....

is this right???

Kind regards

It has been merged in the 20120521, but "un-merged" later...

Working good so far (20120525).... but 2 minor issues. No adb even tho its enabled in the root settings (remount failed: Operation not permitted" and the Backup Account google feature seems to not work (No account is currently storing backed up data) and i got good google files extracted from my Nexus's stock rom.

Other than those two items its great and the launcher settings stub part is wonderful since i can replace launcher without that that setting option being useless. And when going from any other rom a wipe is always done LOL.

Today it occurred to me that my battery was draining VERY fast. So I flashed the newest nightly, and it still is draining :/

I found out it is because of a kernel wakelock on mipi_link (awake for 4 hours and 44 mins, that's when I last rebooted). Does anyone have the same problem?

edit:
It's draining so fast that it's almost impossible to charge... plugged it in 6 hours ago on 27%, right now it's on 36% on a 1A charger

edit2:
plugged it in a different, non-samsung, 500mA charger and it went to 42% in about 20 mins :/ still looking into the 4 hours wakelock on mipi_link tho

ah, so it's not just me.  I posted about this a few weeks ago.  I thought maybe it was because I haven't done a wipe data - but you say you always do and still get it.

Does the dev/maintainer for the gnexus CM port read this forum?

So I tried this myself, and got the same behaviour.

C:\Users\Administrator>adb remount
remount failed: Operation not permitted

Solution:

C:\Users\Administrator>adb root

C:\Users\Administrator>adb remount
remount succeeded
