Here we go again! New version of CyanogenMod means a new nightly thread, but same old rules!

  • DO NOT: Post to the bug tracker
  • DO NOT: Open another thread (I will enforce this with temp bans)
  • DO NOT: Think of this as official forum support; this thread will be strictly user to user support. Don't expect CM-dev help.
** These CyanogenMod builds are highly experimental and unsupported.
**
** Please refrain from submitting bug reports for any issues
** you may encounter while running one of these builds.
**
** Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
** cause of male impotence.

Wow new CM. It feels like forever since I've been blessed with CM on my phone. Running the 3/18 nightly and loving it. Can't wait for all the new features to roll in. I wonder what the new boot animation is going to look like? I'm sure it'll be classy, there were some really nice looking CM logo proposals last time I checked. Thanks devs for all your hard work.

Loving CM9! Fastest and smoothest running ROM for Galaxy Nexus IMO!

Keep up the great work guys!

I am curious. Perhaps I just don't understand the separation but is there actually an RC for CM9 already (http://www.jeago.com/cm/)? I thought RC is under "stable mod" and nightlies is the experimental section. I know the link shows a bunch of RC zips/torrents. Is this different from the most recent nightly on Rom Manager? Please forgive my ignorance, I haven't used the manager actively since CM6 on my OG droid.

Is the only option to install RC1 by downloading and then using recovery to install?

No there isn't yet. All of those links are for CM7.2 not CM9. Also I see you are running my Kang.

+1 to winner00. not sure when to switch over to the official cm9 alpha seeing how winner00's kang is more stable has more features. (from what i've been following on the xda cm9 thread. still haven't bothered to install it just yet)

Thanks expertontech. I believe they are looking for a new logo so I wonder if the boot animation will change. However that on definitely looks nice. Also, I see you are a fellow Utard like me. woot!

Any idea when the new boot graphic will be included in one of the nightlies or do you guys think it will be held until the stable official version comes out?

psst. you can just add the (completely bad ass) cm9 boot animation if you're tired of waiting.

Anyone have any luck getting the My Verizon app to work?  The Verizon login app works fine, but the data widget never connects, and trying to open just gives a communication error.

Wanted to let you know the nightly for 3/29 is not fully uploaded.  it is only 41mb in size.

Also the md5 check sum does not match.

3-30 is too small as well. Great work on everything though looking forward to the final release.

yeah, it's about 42 megs or so. That last 80MB is probably important.

Is it legal to put a bounty on a bug \ feature request?  I hope so.  and I hope this is the right place to do it.

I'd like to offer up some money to whoever can figure out how to allow apps (specifically Tasker) to manipulate the radio and GPS on my CDMA Galaxy Nexus.  It seems to be a limitation of ICS that doesn't allow apps to automatically put your phone in or out of airplane (or do anything to the radio) or automatically turn on GPS.

For instance, I'd like GPS to automatically be turned on when I open up Google Maps.  When I try to configure that in Tasker now it says "Sorry, that action is not available on this device".  My research on Tasker indicates that it's a limitation of ICS.

If it's even possible, what's a reasonable dollar amount?

Why not just leave GPS turned on? When it isn't in use, it goes into sleep and really doesn't use any battery at all.

All you need is Secure Settings; it allows access to the Secure functions.

I'm using 3-28's build.  Is the bootloader animation "smooth" for anyone?  The default Samsung one runs pretty fast and smooth but the CM bootloader animation stutters quite a bit.  It isn't really all that important, just a curiosity that is dangling in the back of my mind.
