I was curious to know if it was possible to use the phone only with google voice. I have since moved on from T-Mobile but I have not lost the love for my old phone. I'm heading over seas so I wanted to use this phone with my internet connection.

Yes. You should be able to just turn on airplane mode, then turn on WiFi.

Right but how, if possible, do you associate your google number to the phone? When I try to perform this action, my phone says that I have to be connected to a network. What I'm looking to do it bypass the network and work straight from G-Voice.

Your mobile phone has to have a number associated with it so that Google Voice can transfer incoming calls to it, otherwise you won't receive them. And it can't be the GV number. I think what you are looking for is something more like Skype or some other VoIP/SIP solution.

Plus, most of Google Voice's features are limited to domestic US.
This isn't really an Inspire-specific question at all. You'd probably do better reading up on Google Voice or simply trying out what you want to do.

@ Dubby
Thanks for the information. I did alot of research and found a way to get what I need out of my phone. I just needed to unlock it and utilize another sim card from my location in Afghanistan. As it turns out I have all that I need so that I can use skype and my regular phone.

I was recently able to do this using Groove IP from the market. I 'tried' it first. Does what it says and it bypasses the need for a phone line. I'm currently using it with a text only plan
