My GPS issue seems to be resolved now since I installed the latest nightly (20120320) and having flashed the LPQ modem.
In Google Maps it takes around ~30-60s (inhouse) and then the GPS position was fixed.

In my previous post I was using 20120309 and in this version it didn't work at all.

Sadly same here, tried the XDA AGPS fix package, the sirf config, the XXLPQ modem... Same result the GPS just won't connect - maybe it does in 15mn minutes but it's all the same for me - while it does in less than 15s on CM7 + AGPS fix.

I am having the same problem here as well. GPS can't lock, only founds 2 satelites... using LPQ and latest CM9

Today it doesn't work anymore.... what's going on? I was so happy yesterday and for the first time I installed CM9 the notification said "Position locked" or something like this.
Just tested it again and it doesn't work... GPS icon is not even flashing.
Additional to this misery, the LPQ modem can't be downloaded anymore. codeworkx was moved to the "Premium" section of the application 'Download ROM'.

So purchase a license for rom manager and you'll be able to download it.

Don't need it - XXLPQ is still active on my phone. I wrote that in case someone else with GPS problems has to do these steps.

I apply "LPQ modem" from codeworkx now, but this isn't solve problem with gps. Using GPS Test app I see 0-2 satellites in "In view" chart maximum, and never in "In use". After some time I see non-zero values from "Accuracy", but GPS Status not change to green.
I try to wait 10 minutes and more - it isn't help, no more than 2 satellites in chart.
So seems this is issue in reporting signal from each satellite.

Google Maps app don't wait when GPS is ready and show my liocation, but other navigation apps waits when GPS is ready and never show my location on this rom.

With other ROM (for example [FULL AOSP/21/03]Resurrection Remix ics v1.0 PRO XXLPQ-LPJ 4.0.3) GPS works well on my device with all apps.

What can I try else for fixing this issue?

I think the Galaxy S2 is very sensitive when it comes to GPS... When you're in a house, it doesn't seem to be working at all, even when it works with other Android devices (in my case the Motorola Milestone).
Once outside I launched GPS Status application, enabled AGPS download, and after around 20-30s my position was fixed. Same then in Google Maps.

You can download and flash it via RomManager: Download ROM -> codeworkx -> LPQ modem

I don't see "codeworkx" in the list (ROM manager updated to latest, premium)

It's still the same even you have LPQ modem installed. The dot inside the GPS indicator is not blinking at all.

Same problem for me also. GPS Status shows max 2 satellites but no lock. Eventually I may get a lock or not, but I never have more than 2-3 satellites. Google Maps shows approximate location, never exactly right though.

The problem is present also on LPQ modem, 2404 build of CM9 nightlies. Tried fixing the problem with the GPS fix from XDA-developers, several gps fix apps from the market etc but without success.

rickshaw, did you enable the AGPS-download ( in the app GPS Status in Tools).
This seems to really help determine my position - but only works outside (as mentioned already above). Even if you're at a window, it doesn't work (at least in my case).

Once my position was fixed in GPS Status (after around 20s), the same worked in Google Maps.

I  get much the same thing as all of you. My S2 was set for Chile. With cm7 it regularly saw 8 to 10 satellites all bars green or amber mostly and a good solid lock. Now, with cm9 adding the gpsfix file and reinstlalling the LPQ modem I get 2 satellites found max, the bars are always grey meaning gpstest or gps aids are not 'using' them. However within a few seconds I get an accurate position report to within 30ft or so of where my phone actually is.None of my gps applications complain or break, so I guess I can wait out a fix for this.

So, final result for now is that all apps work with only apparently 2 non used satellites. On startup, the msg in status says within 20 seconds or so that it has a location lock.

Weird.

Looks still the same on 20120328... sometimes it works after a couple of seconds but then it kind of loses the signal until the position is fixed again. On the maps the own position gets very "jumpy". Sometimes it does not work at all, even if I wait for 5mins and longer.
I know this issue didn't occur with the stock ROM so something is different in CM9.

Hope is around....
In the newest nightly from today 20120330 there was a patch added called "Added target specific header for gps.h" ...
Will flash later and see if it makes a difference.

So I did some GPS testing now...

Location: inhouse, close to window (about 3-4m). Tested with GPS Status app open for 5min.

20120328
1 sat found. First number 11, then number 13, then number 1. But at all times only one satellite at a time.
GPS icon not flashing. Position not fixed.

20120330
1 sat found. First number 11, then number 1. But at all times only one satellite at a time.
GPS icon started flashing after around 40s. Position however not fixed after 5min.

Will do another test outside in a couple of mins.

I am using the 20120330.

GPS Status shows only 2 sats and gray, but it syncs with 10meter error.
Netherlands, Amsterdam on a vary cloudy Day.

20120328 - Cannot sync at all!

So, had time to do some tests outside.

GPS Status shows max 2 sats at the same time. Position is fixed after around 10 seconds (also with 10m error, but that's GPS's margin).
In Google Maps it took around 20seconds to fix the position.

And to Billias: Switzerland, Geneva on a very sunny day :-P
