Hi there, new to the forum.
I haven't installed Android on my Touchpad yet, but been reading and watching some videos of how ICS runs on it and I'm quite impressed.
I knew the Touchpad was a powerful device, no matter what people might think about it, still has a dual core 1.2GHz CPU and a GPU as well, plus 1GB of ram, so it should move ICS easy, but I'm waiting for a kernel 3 to get Android on mine.
Question is, any rough idea of how long before a rom with kernel 3 could be released? when this happens I'll install it and of course donate, no problem.
Thanks to all in Cyanogen team for your hard and altruist work :)

Can I ask you why do you insist on Linux 3 kernel?

Anybody got any advice on an app that would be good to use in place of that? HBO Go does not work but after researching it they only support android phones right now - no tablets.

Actually HBO GO works on every tablet, unless it doesn't have a browser. I watch HBO Go everynight on my Touchpad in bed. It's how Ive been falling asleep lately. Very nice and conveinent :).

You can watch HBO go through the browser like you would on your computer. It just thinks you're a PC and streams accordingly. Full screen 720p hbogo is nice :)

I have updated to the latest Google Chrome, tried starting it and it's telling me that it's not supporting my version of android and that ICS is the minimum supported. For some reason it's not recognizing that i'm already running ICS. Any workaround?

I tried watching HD streams from Dreambox on MXPlayer (Local wifi) and I was unable to change decoder from S/W to H/W. Something about unsupported video mode.. Just to let you know.

great release kudos for getting netflix to work.
I've upgraded from alpha 0.6 and noticed huge battery drain - checked battery status and it shows that device was active approximately 3hours out of 9 hours of uptime, however wifi was running all the time.
I haven't experienced any of the wifi issues raised by other members on this forum, but this battery drain is slightly disturbing.
ps
forgot to mention broken chrome not recognizing device os as ICS but that's minor detail ;)

Yeah this is really amazing :)...the only issues I still have are wifi, although not as bad as CM7, and the stupid audio distortion when I turn off the screen...which seems like it'll never be fixed 8(...

Hi, great work getting 2 updates in 1 day.

I installed Alpha 2 today and it is working except I get an error popping up on the screen all the time and I am not sure where this is coming from.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated....

It shows "Unfortunately, (Asian symbols) has stopped."

It keeps appearing and not sure if this is an app.  I've done the update again and reinstalled gapps just in case but nothing..

Thanks

Wow indeed. Not sure if its related, but my battery drain is about on par with the WebOS.

Very very impressive.

Seriously though. Any news on audio distortion fixes? I've tried turning off notification sounds...using setcpu and CPUtuner...softlock...nothing works 8(

Just updated and it works great! Great work by the team! ICS is a great tablet experience! I'll see how the battery and everything goes after a day or so, but so far a much better experience than CM7 for a tablet.

I totally understand the need for stable wifi connection. I have used and modified a few tablets and have found a couple of things that MAY help some of you.
Cyanogenmod 7 and 9 have both reset or at least booted with the date set to 1-1-1970, it plays hell with your wifi connection. Clock sync fixes this.
Another thing that I have done is set my router channel to #1 only. I have a Net gear WNR 2000 router.

Occasionally I notice clock sync will report a -1.33 billion second error, which tells me android did not boot the correct date, but instead the 1-1-1970 date.

Channel 1 wifi in my area is generally unused, using wifi analyzer.

This info may not help, but it can't hurt to try, if you're having trouble.

My wifi has been rock solid since.

Same happened to me - while typing, With the keyboard up, I hit the settings-symbol at bottom left and accidentally picked another language. It then crashed. But when I hit it again to go in and set it back to English, the app kept crashing so I couldn't change it.

Eventually, found it under the main settings, Language & Input tab and was able to change it there.

Great Great Great GREAT update by the CM team! I have seen ppl having problems with their Wifi but I am experiencing MUCH more reliable connections with Alpha 2 than I was with alpha 0.6. It is no longer taking me near a minute to connect and I am seeing less Grey bars. I am currently testing the effects on the Battery. Having the Wifi on used 2 destroy my battery. I am seeing less Market flashes and less issues with Google Apps crashing (i.e Gallery). Largely due to flashing the latest Gapps, I believe. The only other issues I have experienced thus far are: 1) Audio distortion with screen off which was present in 0.6, 2)Chrome is now giving me the error message saying my device is not compatible, 3) Hulu+ is also giving me a similar msg. The Chrome Browser issue is, for me, the largest issue because it is the browser I use most. Even more than Dolphin. Has anyone figured out a fix for the Chrome issue yet? Any help would be great. I am about 2 go peruse the forum to see. Thank you in advance. :) But overall AMAZING update! Keep up the great work Cyanogenmod Team!

Does everything include setting your router wifi channel to the lowest unused channel in your neighborhood?

This happened to me, its related to the KEYBOARD app you have downloaded. remove all keyboard apps you have, except android, reboot and you should be fine. HTH

Again, Kudos to the cyanogen team, the HPTP lives and keep giving.

PS finally setup up PC to have a shared video folder and now have streaming abilities thru ES file explorer! Very nice i say.
