First time using cyanogen on my Hero. Everything installed and is working well. However, I have searched the forums and for the life of me can't find where to download the latest gapps zip file to flash to get the Google content. I'm sure I'm missing something right in front of my face. Sorry for noob question.

After more searching, I finally found a list of gapps files in the Wiki. Here is a link if others search the forums and have problems finding the files:

Glad you found it. Most things are answered in the wiki as you see. Also, the main pinned thread for the rom included it. GApps links are usually included in the pinned rom threads in each phone's subforum.
