Thanks!  That seemed to work for my camera, but I still can't seem to find an app to use my phone as a flashlight (meaning toggling the flash on outside of the camera app).  What are you using?  I used to always use Tesla LED, but that's a no-go with CM9.

Glad it worked. I don't use the LED as a flashlight, so I haven't tried anything. It would be awesome if this were built into CM9. I think there was an app called Torch that came with CM7 that worked.

If I'm not mistaken, the torch feature has not been added upstream yet, but it is a planned feature.

search tiny flashlight + led on the market.  works fine on cm9 for me..  pretty sure it's the only one that does work currently.

I heard that the only flashlight app that works is "tiny flashlight". Check it out.

I hadn't even realized that torch wasn't present. I rarely use it but for sure would have been like doh when I went to go use it next and not had it. I'm going to install tiny flashlight myself until torch is added in.

First off thanks to the devs who are working on this rom!  Even in Alpha this one has been amazing.

2 issues I'm running into that after browsing through 21 pages of comments I haven't found yet:

1.  3g data disappears on me.  I was driving around for new job using Google maps when all of the sudden i couldn't get the new address located for my next stop.  I realized that the issue was due to 3g data disappearing.  At first, being further south than I normally am I thought maybe it was a PRL issue.  I rebooted my phone (remember i'm running an alpa) and all the sudden 3g was back up.  This has happened also where I normally live as well so as far as I can tell PRL isn't an issue.  I did switch back my rooted stock rom, updated prl and profile and then switched back to alpha 5 but still had the same issue.

2.  I've noticed that when i'm calling someone one I may have to call them 2 times because the 1st time the caller cannot hear me.  Mute doesn't seem to be on  when I check it out.  As soon as we hangup and I call back I can talk to them fine....

Again, thanks for the GREAT work with this ROM.  I'm actually still using it as my daily and other than these 2 issues have been ecstatic with the results.

I'm almost 100% sure this is a sprint network issue. It has happened to me on rare occation from any ROM out of the box stock or custom including once so far on CM9.

I've had the first issue a couple of times.  (as in 2 that I specifically remember through the various alphas) All I had to do was reboot my phone and it came right back.
Never had an issue like the 2nd one mentioned yet.

I am having issues with the camera not focusing, anyone else having this issue?  I can touch to focus or focus using the shutter button but the focus square is always red, and pictures are blurry.

I have cleaned the camera lens, and it is not scratched.

Also the additional settings menu seems very limited, are there supposed to be more options than Location, power shutter and size?

I recall the stock camera app had tons of settings.

My camera is also always showing a red box upon focusing. I'm not sure if it's supposed to turn another color or not, but usually pictures turn out sharp so long as I'm not within the minimum focus distance.

To the left of the zoom slider there is a preferences button, this will replace the slider with settings for exposure compensation, white balance, and flash. Hitting the vertical ellipse will bring up the settings for location storing, resolution, and power shutter. WTF is "power shutter" anyway ... ?

After I take a picture with CM9a5's Camera app, I see, as expected, the thumbnail of the just-taken shot.
If I single-tap the thumbnail, the image appears in full window, along with a scrollable app-bar.
At the top of that app bar is a fixed-position, non-scrolling icon for the default image app.
If I single-tap either that icon, or the zoomed, full-window image, the default "Gallery" app is opened.

I want to change the app associated with both of those actions to QuickPic, rather than Gallery.

Where/how do I force that association for the Camera app?

Wiping Camera app's data seems to have no effect ...

I would consider uninstalling the STD gallery if your using quick pic, but I would suggest maybe using titbu to freeze gallery and see if it then associates quick pic as the default gallery browser before doing something so drastic.

That did the trick -- after freezing Gallery, the next click-to-view popped up the app association dialog, and I was able to select QuickPic.  The selection/setting 'sticks' .Thanks.  No reason to uninstall ... freeze works.

In CM9a5, I enable CM9->Settings->Developer Options->Kill app back button.

I find it quite useful.

Recently (since maybe CM9a3?  wasn't paying really close attention), I've noticed that my 'back' key is less responsive than it used to be.  The other capacitative buttons are the same as always.  This is true for all 3 of my Epic4Gs.  As a result, I have to "press a little harder" on the back key to get actual back-functionality.

Unfortunately, that "harder" ends up frequently being "just a bit too long", and it exec the app-kill.

Is there a setting to lengthen the minimum long-press duration for that app-kill to be invoked?  I'd like it to be longer thatn it is, obviously.
