I wanted to listen to some music using an external speaker connected via the 3.5mm jack. But I hear the music from the builtin speaker only. Is there anything I have to adjust in the settings? I searched through the sound settings, but don't understand what to change.

Interestingly in the music application itself, there are some setting related to the headset (sound effects). But no way to actually switch on the headset output.

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

PS: At a sidenote, the FM radio application shows the same behaviour, i.e. no output on the external speaker, but I don't care about that.
