Not asking for an ETA, but curious about how cm9 is doing.

Pretty sure that Andromedus on XDA is eventually going to be used as the codebase for CM9. That's about as close as you are going to get to an alpha. I imagine that shortly after they have the working camera on that specific rom, we will see some nightlies roll out.
Yes, there is a fix for the camera that works. I'm using Virtuous Quattro and my camera works pretty well.

The camera version of andromedus is up now. I was on Virtuos quatro myself but the graphic glitch was getting to me.

Hi,
I tried Andromadus alpha 10 on Desire Z after a full wipe.
Camera was not working.
Wifi was not working (tried other radios to be sure).
VPN was not working.
As other people do not complain with these, I suppose it's due to the slight differences between G2 and Desire Z.
I'm now back to CM7 nightly 263 from which everything is OK.

I have desire z and wifi works perfectly. Camera works, but top part of picture gets some scrambled lines. Haven't tried vpn though.

After reading the latest "Progress on CM9" blog post, I saw it mentioned that the next devkits to be released will be "a whole array of Samsung phones", followed by "devices based on the Qualcomm MSM8660 and 7×30 chipsets".
Since the HTC Desire Z / G2 has a Qualcomm MSM7230 chipset, it looks like that falls under the aforementioned "7x30 chipsets" category.
So I'm guessing that the likelihood of there being a CM9 version for the HTC Desire Z / G2 is very high! Am I right? Now I just wish we knew when...

I'm guessing there's no CM9 nightly builds for this device yet because of the non-100% functional camera drivers.
I've been using an ICS build from XDA and everything works great, except for the camera.
I hope someone figures this out soon! HTC could open-source their camera drivers so devs can tinker with it...
Cyanogenmod FTW

Where on the download page? Can't seem to find it, and am really looking forward to ICS (have considered andromedus, since I don't care about the camera).

Actually as far as camera is concerned, with beta 2 I have had no problems with camera or camcorder for that matter. I suggest you make a backup and give it a try. Atleast until CM begins building, though until there is an official fix for the camera and not a hack, it could be some time before we see any CM9 nightlies.

Do we have any updates at all? Been waiting patiently, seeing lots of other devices getting ICS... or am I missing something?

Im running the unofficial CyanogenMod 9.0.0-RC0 BETA 13 (im personally running actually beta 10 not 13) and everything looks awesome and dandy, except for the 720 p camera fc. The auto brightness works better than the cm7.2 nightly, though I must say it sometimes is not bright enough!
