Best Radio for CM7 on G2?

I have gotten the best results from:

Radio 26.08.04.30_M3

and the matching ril of

HTC-RIL 2.2.0019G (Aug 18 2011,21:08:53)

I've seen the best battery performance since getting the phone on release day.

Also note, though, that the gps driver included in cm7 is the generic google version, not the specific htc driver for gps. If you flash your radio, replace the RIL, and update the GPS you'll be golden.

replace the google gps driver provided in the CM ROM with the one provided by HTC in the most recent OTA.

I also reccommend flashing CM nightly # 263 before doing any of the above.

As a n00b I have to ask the question before I do something stupid: Do this aply to desire Z as well? I am 99,56% sure that they have the same HW....but not 100% :)

I recommend what's in my sig, running the latest radio, RIL and a modified GPS driver for them. No issues. =)

This thread is updated the most often on XDA, that's where I've gotten mine. Use mikewithe's links for the GPS drivers & RIL matching.

Thanks for the links.  I was having the same problem but I now have a strong signal.  Now While sitting in my house my phone will switch back and forth from 3G to H and back to 3G about every 30 seconds.  If anyone has any suggestions on how to fix this I'm all ears.

Yep. You sure can. Though, in all honesty I'm not sure why you would want to. The nightly is more stable than the RC.

Nightly 263 is a build of CM 7.2 right? Are you saying 263 is more stable than 7.1-stable or 7.1-RC or ? I was about to try 7.2-RC that was released after your post, and then update my radio. But after I read your post, I was worried I wasn't picking the best option.

I downloaded newst radio Vision_Radio_12.62.60.27_26.13.04.1 from XDA web. Would you recommend me a matching ril file for CM 7.x?

Thanks. I think I could install it via ADB, rebooted and there were those files  :)

I'll post my results this week... is there anyway else to confirm I have installed right ril files?
