Hi, I'm new to this.  I just rooted and installed the latest build.  Mostly everything went ok, but I find now that after I reinstalled HTC Sync, it doesn't see the device.

Any help would be appreaciated.

HTC Sync is part of the Sense framework. If you have a ROM without it you cannot use the sync application. You can try an application like MyPhoneExplorer, which is actually a lot better.
