I've had a problem with my phone for a few months now ever since I installed C7 on it.  (I previously had a nexus one and had run cyanogenmod on it pretty much since the day i got it)
Anyway, If I try to use the camcorder the system freezes.  I know this is because I have an old radio on the phone.  I've tried over and over again to install the newest radio but it just doesn't work.  After Hboot updates it, it only gives me the option to restart.  It restart and just sits on the white HTC screen indeffinately.  When take the battery out, and reboot the phone again into recovery mode it immediatly sees the PG58IMG.zip file and tries to upgrade it again sticking me in a loop until i take the battery out, put my sd card in my computer, take the filee off the root, and then boot my phone, at which point android boots and still has my old radio listed.  I read that I'm supposed to delete the cache afterwards, but thats not possible since while the .zip is on the root, the only thing it will do is upgrade it and then force me to reboot.

Just a heads up but the camcorder is a known issue at 1080 on CM 7.1 Alpha 10.

They do mention that only one radio was tested by team Cyanogen.  (persiansown is kmobs)

Thanks.  The link for that suggested radio no longer works.  Do you know somewhere else i can get it?

Also that thread says after installing that radio, reboot into recovery to delete the cache.  The problem that i'm having is that when I boot into that it immediately starts upgrading the radio again and then only gives me the option to reboot and not go to the section where i can delete teh cache.

cool I used that process and it did sucessfully update the radio.  the camcorder however lasts about 5 seconds now before freezing instead of just freezing immediately.  Is there a workaround for this?

i used the 11.16 radio instead and it appears to be working now

nah its deffinately not working.  I recorded one 20 second video and now it's crashing everytime i try to record

Hey Geoff,

The camcorder at 1080p causes a reboot on aplha 10 as well. If you use any lower setting than max it will work fine i.e: Wide and below.

P.S besides the bugs that are not that bad cyanogen is extremely stable compared to stock and the only other major bugs are the radio which I believe a 3rd party radio app works and you can use a different browser.

Playing around with it I did notice that that choosing a different quality setting stopped the reboot, however using the latest radio listed on the link above has now caused my phone to reboot itself about every 3-4 minutes.  I'm currently going backwards through the radios to try to find one that fits alright.

Where are you seeing multiple posts?  As far as I know this is the only thread i've started on this topic.

Actually I have started using the radio that is part of the ICS firmware (flashed the full firmware) seems to be fine. Are you using the stock or a different kernel?

Also did you try wiping the cache and dalvik after the radio update as that might have caused it.

Which firmware did you flash, 4.0.1 or 4.0.3 ?  I'm on the earlier one and it seems to work well on CM7 and Inquisition 1.4.2, I have been debating updating to the latter.

I'm on the latter but was stuck in a boot loop for a while. I used the one for Virtuous Inquisition. I suggest not updating unless you want to play with a rom that needs it.

I have a radio image of 10.56.9035.00P_10.14.9035.01_M  and i have been trying to go to 10.56.9035.00U_10.14.9035.01  by doing the following.

1. Open zip file and place the radio.img into the location of your adb/fastboot (platform-tools or tools, depending how you set your fastboot up)
2. Place your phone into fastboot.. by connecting phone to computer and typing adb reboot bootloader
3. flash radio by typing these fastboot commands fastboot flash radio radio.img
4. once that is finished restart phone by typing fastboot reboot


It seems to update fine but when  the device reboots it still shows the older image
there is another thread where the person has the same problem

What does Settings -> About Phone say ??  Use that as the ref.   The HBOOT radio version doesn't seem to get updated.

I've had the same problem with my HTC sensation too. Good thing I have a friend who knows much about electronics. Mark has been working with circuits and mother boards and all those things for about 10 years now. He told me that my phone could be really dirty on the inside making it slow and not responsive. He took my phone and returned it a couple of days like a new unit. I was like wow! I thought my phone was a good as trash before he took it.lol. They used an ultrasonic cleaning something to fix my phone. I'm not really sure what that is but I think it's great! He sent me this article the other day http://www.iultrason...ic-cleaner.html because I kept asking how they magically brought my phone to life. lmao. Anyway I found this very helpful so check it out.
